Good restaurant with French influence

This is a fairly recent arrival on the Essaouira resto scene and from its appearance and location (in the party area ouside the old medina) we had expected it to be another tourist trap. Certainly theres nothing Moroccan about it... the interior could be London or Barcelona or Dublin. But... read more

I visited Le Chrysalis 3 times during my stay in Essaouira and all 3 experiences exceeded my expectations. My first visit was in the evening, around 11pm, for a glass of wine after having just spent 3 hours on the bus. The atmosphere was nice, it was starting to fill with people and the staff were very friendly. I had... More

On a day trip from Agadir our guide took us to this place for lunch. We had fantastic fresh fish and seafood at reasonable prices off the day specials menu. Staff were friendly and courteous with a very relaxed style. Not for fast foodies or people in a hurry, just right for a leisurely lunch. Only downside was no draught... More

We were in Essaouira for the day and came across this little restaurant near the wall and stopped for lunch. I had been unwell the previous evening and knew exactly what I wanted to eat to help. It was not on the menu but when I explained to the lady on the door she went to the chef and asked... More

This newish restaurant set in gardens alongside Medina walls is a good newcomer to town. The terrace is nice to have lunch & inside looks good for dinner. Service was good. Choice of food was very good with meals that can't be had elsewhere in Essaouira. Black pudding always welcome! Charcuterie excellent, salmon dishes plus duck. Bit pricy but a... More

The sole meuniere was as good as one would get in a top class European restaurant - straight out of the sea in a light batter with almonds. Service efficient and courteous. Price close to Irish prices for a good lunch - which wasn't cheap but worth it. Well worth patronising - close to the Bus terminal and the beach.
