We were sent here by the owner of our accommodation and she didn't let us down. This is a simple, small, reasonably priced restaurant with traditional typical Moroccan food. Its right behind the souk (coming from the port just pass through the souk and immediately turn left. Its on that street on the right and is well signed). You can... More

4 of us ate here and thoroughly enjoyed our evening meal. We booked and had the back table in this tiny restaurant. We all had lovely meals and the apple pie for desert was delightful. If you go to this place expecting silver service you may well be disappointed, but as a local ethnic experience it was unbeatable. The prices... More

We made a reservation, which is important as the place is very small and very good. The atmosphere is homely, the service a bit slow, but the stuffed sardines were the best I have ever eaten for as little as 35 dirhams. Absolutely recommended.

You just have to eat there if you are in Essaouira, but book in advance, only abt 15 guests. A restaurant like few others, more so for the atmosphere and the room than the food, which by the way is excellent as well. No wine, but try "byo".

Having eaten here in April 2014 I am a little surprised at the number of effusive reviews it has on TA. The food is good, but not stunning. Service was a little slow, and the seating is a bit cramped. Food was tasty, but we did have fish and tagine dishes which you would expect to be good in Essaouira.... More

This restaurant really deserves to have a no. 1 slot on Trip Advisor. Maybe this review will help towards getting it there! The food was perfect on both occasions we went there - stuffed sardines, fish with orange butter, couscous royale and, yes, the apple pie....At lunch time we sampled the charming and gracious service and truly delicious cooking of... We arrived early (7pm) to get a table as they can only seat about 12 people. We received a warm welcome and the service from start to finish was perfect. I had the Lamb tagine and the other half had the chicken one. They were both excellent full of flavour and good sized portions. At less than 20 euros for... More

This was a great surprise. Very friendly family run place. Like eating in their front room. Lovely, tasty food at a fraction of the price elsewhere. Get their early or book. Its very small and well known to regulars.

Loved the atmosphere and the food was outstanding. There is a starter with filled sardines that might sound a bit odd until you see it and taste it from somebody else's plate. Then you quickly change your might and order some too... I also had the tagine with meatballs. Very, very tasty.

This restaurant really deserves top marks for hospitality & attentive service from the lovely family who run it. It is an authentic, local restaurant, tiny, with only a few tables, seating around 10-12 people. Sad that I could not rate it higher, but the food was disappointing. The lamb chops with the cous-cous dish were dried out & tough, as... More
