lovely atmoshphere and great for a kid

We have been traveling with our adorable and normally adventurous four year old, but wanting to break the spaghetti/pizza cycle it's so easy to fall into when it's available everywhere. This place was perfect. A beautiful spacious anient courtyard where he could roam and chat to all the diners and... read more

I had the best couscous in Morocco in this lovely restaurant. It's inside Medina, close to all the craziness, but you feel totally relaxed there. And with the licence of alcohol, Dar Loubane is the right place to chill out. The prices for food are reasonable though you need to count with more money if you want to have some... More

Nice ambiance, lovely Moroccan meal with a nice glass of wine. A bit more expensive, about 150 per person for main course plus desert, but worth it.

Our 40th Wedding Anivesary saw our 4th holiday in Essaouira. Dar Loubaine is a most gracious 16 (17?)00's building run by the more than gracious host couple, who recognised the insignificance of being married for only 40 years (!). Very friendly staff, very excellent food, ambience par excellence. Please go there.

We ate here on a recommendation from our French host. It is a small restaurant run by a family tucked away on a side street just off the main square. We were the first there at 7pm and were made very welcome with happy hour drinks and olives. The waiter spoke excellent English and was very friendly. The French owner... More

We visited for dinner. There is a wine list which is nice and fairly inexpensive 110dr for a half bottle of wine. We ordered the brochettes 55 dr and the lamb, honey and tomato tagine 110 dr. The flavours were amazing but been warned this is a very sweet dish. Despite that I would not be without tasting it at... More

We had great food, wine and beer at a reasonable price here at Dar Loubane. The restaurant is just inside the walls of the Medina in an old merchants building. It was a quiet peaceful dining experience ,although it got busier as the night went on and we later chatted with the very gracious owner

Went on recommendation from our raid. The courtyard dining room was very cold and although they pointed a calor gas heater in our direction, I did not take my coat off. The chicken with dates and almonds was ok, but a fairly bony joint of chicken in a thin sauce. Nothing bad but nothing good really

Lovely staff, very attentive, food was good, nothing special, but apparently cakes for afternoon tea are excellent

Went here for lunch and were the only ones there, despite this we were looked after and the food seemed freshly made. No complaints would go again.
