Went on recommendation from our raid. The courtyard dining room was very cold and although they pointed a calor gas heater in our direction, I did not take my coat off. The chicken with dates and almonds was ok, but a fairly bony joint of chicken in a thin sauce. Nothing bad but nothing good really

Lovely staff, very attentive, food was good, nothing special, but apparently cakes for afternoon tea are excellent

Went here for lunch and were the only ones there, despite this we were looked after and the food seemed freshly made. No complaints would go again.

Wonderful atmosphere, great service and delicious food at not too expensive prices. You will find far more expensive and of far less quality in Essaouira. A must visit

We visited this restaurant, two nights running. The first night - we were the only diners, and everything was OK. The second night, they were pretty full, but the owners seemed to occupy one of the main tables. We felt like the unwanted guests at a wedding. The owners daughter seemed to have some disagreement with mum and dad, and... More

I was reluctant to go in as there was only one other couple when we arrived, but the French owner and Moroccan waiter gently encouraged us in... and it was so worth. It was our last night in Essaouira after 5 nights - and it was one of the best meals out. Wonderful atmosphere, even though it wasn't very busy... More

We visited this restaurant last year and a year on it is still as good. Food delicious and authentic and service efficient plus they are licensed to serve wine.

We went for lunch having seen a positive review in the Rough Guide, and were disappointed. The tablecloths weren't very clean, and we were the only diners. We ordered a few things from the tapas menu, including some garlic prawns (didn't really taste of anything), saffron rice (ditto), and a couple of vegetable dips, which were fine. Food took a... We have visited Essaouria many times and eaten in different places. We stumbled on Dar Loubane this year and are pleased we did. The food in Morocco can vary greatly, with some tagines lacking in flavour. The food here is excellent with a greater choice than in many The restaurants. We ate here four times, as a family of five,... More

Interesting environment eating in the middle of an open courtyard. We were ready for a break from tagine and really enjoyed the tapas for a change, but I also had a great fish tagine. Saturday night music had a mixed review from our teenage children. Sadly our daughter was suffering from too much sun so we had to leave early.... More
