Just had lunch at La Cantina, two cheese jackets, chicken stir-fry and a burger, all freshly cooked and nicely presented followed by chocolate cheesecake that was worth a visit on its own. All the above plus two teas and a large bottle of water for £20 (290 Dirhams). Excellent value and pleasantly tended to by Jan and Agnes.

Was getting a bit bored of tagines and cous cous for every meal so I was happy to have any thing other than that. Turns out the burger is excellent, one of the best I have ever eaten. I also finally had a proper cup of earl grey.

This is a pleasant retreat from Moroccan and French food which may result in ratings that it might not otherwise get. The ratings are however very fair compared to other restaurants in Essaouira. Between us over a couple of sittings we had the veggie stir fry, the veggie burger, the Mexican omelette, scones with jam and cream, orange juice and... More

The first time my husband and I came across this place whilst in Essaouira, it was the day it was about to close for refurbishment. We were sorely disappointed as we enjoyed the most delicious home-made cake and coffee there and were looking forward to returning for a meal. However, we were delighted to find out about a week ago... More

Having just arrived in morocco it was SO nice to come across someone as kind as Jan to take the time to accommodate my special needs! I had a delicious hamburger!!! No bun! Easy enough! She also steered me to another restaurant (Silvestro's) for another great gluten free meal! Her shiny personality lit us up every time we went to... More
