Lovely Cafe Hidden Away in a Quiet Corner of the Medina But Really Worth Seeking Out

I decided to visit this café after reading that they served scones and I was so glad I did as it was delightful. The café serves English - Mexican food, so is a good choice if you are wanting a change from Moroccan food. The café is located in a little side street just a few minutes away from Bab... read more

We just came from a small side street and then I saw the sign "Scones and English tea" and as my boyfriend never had scones before we decided to sit down and try some. We also ordered a banana-strawberry smoothie. Both were very delicious and the british accent of the waitress (and maybe also the owner) made the whole atmosphere... More

just tried the cake and tea. Banana bread was excellent. Carrot cake was pretty dry and sandy but the flavour was good. Would go back and try other stuff at La Cantina when I return to Essaouira. Someone on the table next to us was having a burger and it smelt fantastic.

We arrived around 5pm for an early dinner, and the cafe shuts at 6. Staff were very helpful, food was served quickly and was very tasty. Prices were very cheap in comparison to other places, would be great location for families looking to please children's tastes!

I am not vegetarian, but I don't regret trying their Vegetarian burger, very tasty. It was a a nice break from traditional Moroccan cuisine. Also the chocolate cheesecake we ordered were amazing! The service and the staff were all friendly and smiley. There are some tables out side, that create a nice atmosphere. I loved!!!

Went here for lunch recently with some friends whilst visiting Essaouira. The western menu made a nice change to traditional Moroccan cuisine and the burgers and chocolate cheesecake we ordered were divine! The staff were all lovely and the atmosphere was great - we sat outside at one of the tables in the square and could quite happily have spent... More

If you want a change from Moroccan food, this is the place for excellent burgers and lovely friendly service. Situated in the square where Game of Thrones was filmed, you can sit in the sun and watch the world go by.

A quaint little square near the Mellah and healthy green stuff to eat. This was just what I needed and La Cantina was there. Great place to eat when the hustle and bustle of the Medina is getting at you.

Fabulous tea and scones and carrot cake. If you fancy a little taste of home - this is the place! It's positioned in a lovely little square where you can sit back and watch the world go by. Would love to have gone back for the famous burgers but we were leaving that evening.

Great little find on a visit to Essaouira. Stopped for drinks then returned for lunch. Had chilli burgers which were advertised as the best burgers in North Africa, they didn't disappoint also the chocolate cheesecake was delicious
