We joined some friends for a meal our last day in Morocco. We had had plenty of authentic food and were looking for something different. The service was excellent. The men devoured the chili cheeseburgers. The scones with cream and strawberries were to die for. Highly recommend it!

Jan and her team provide consistently wonderful food, service and value. Often we say, let's go see Jan Why? We can always count on her to cheer us up not only with her kind words but always with her beautifully presented, incredibly high quality food and drink. The menu lists everything from curries to great burgers to stuff baked potatoes, freshly made... Service - good. Not overly chatty but thats nice sometimes. Good looking space although outside was pretty rubs, cats weeing extremely nearby etc - we are in Africa though. We had the burgers and they were good. The accompliments with them of salsa, coleslaw and a trustworthy salad brought it together well. Switch the crisps out for fries though in... More

We stumbled across la cantina when out for a walk around Essaquira and got excited by the menu. We went back to eat there a few times. Really good food for meat eaters like my boyfriend and me a vegetarian. Lovely friendly and very hard working staff. After a few weeks in Morocco it was a nice change to have... More

This place looked so great from the outside but it was really disappointing. The service was pretty slow and the food was not great - very tough chicken and unappealing rice. The burgers looked a little better. The square also smelled a little unpleasant and we were bothered by stray cats and flies (not the restaurant's fault but it did... More

Without a doubt the best burger I've ever had in Africa! Great English based cuisine, if you fancy a break from the local experience this is the place to scoff and relax, set in a buzzing little square.

Run by an English couple, the cakes here are excellent, and they are famed for the best burger in North Africa. I'm not sure how scientific that study was, but it was a bloody good burger. Great spot to people watch in a lovely little square overlooking a tile maker.
