The best of Essaouria for fine French Moroccan wining and dining

Loved this place- food wine live music and service all excellent. Very attentive and friendly staff, great live music was not too loud but well suited to the atmosphere. We spent 600 DH and got a Pastillas starter to share (amazing range of flavours), slow cooked lamb main and seafood tagging main... read more

This is a popular restaurant in the medina of Essaouira. Live music on several nights during the week. We were with a group of eight. Good, friendly service. The food is great, pastilla with seafood is great. The restaurant serves a nice Rosé from the region, which has a slight salty taste. Probably because of the location near the Atlantic... More

We had such an unexpectedly brilliant time as the staff were such fun as we all joined in dancing to the band with a great bunch of French customers helping the drummer out. Great atmosphere.Heavenly food and the crepe suzette with Grand Mariner flambé was just delicious.

Went for supper with my partner and chose one of the set menus for 130 DH which includes a starter (huge portion of Harira for me, yummy!), a main (I had Tagine Kefta with peas, partner went for the stuffed Sardines tagine. Heaven!) and some dessert such as fruit salad or coffee/tea. It was relatively quiet and empty when we... More

We loved the friendly ambience and great food. So much so that we eat there for two consecutive nights - so had the cheaper and the more expensive menus - both great!

Turned up on a Wednesday night and there were only a few tables taken. The fruit juice was great. We shared the fried pastry starter; our main course the sardine tagine and seafood pastille. Both very good. Only reason we did not score 5 out of 5 - my partner did not like the carrots in the tagine. Would visit... More

This is an upmarket place but the prices are slightly cheaper than those in Europe. We had tagine and pastilla, both were excellently cooked and artistically presented. They seem to add sweet to all savoury dishes, just so you are aware! The service was ok, not too fast or too ince which was strange as the place was quiet on... More

We went to Sirocco on a sunday night and found out there was a magician in the restaurant every sunday. The food is traditional moroccan and very, very good and price worthy. I had a fantastic chocken tajine. The service is personal and good. The magician walked around the tables and made amazing tricks. We were totally blown away! He... More

We arrived at about 7.30pm, without booking, and there weren't many other people there. We ordered our food and a bottle of French white wine. My friend had chick pea soup, and I had an aubergine and tomato 'salad' - both were very good, and promptly served. We then had a fish tajine and chicken couscous. Again both excellent, though... Nice restaurant with several rooms. Amazing food with reasonable prices. The woman manager is very friendly and adviser. The waiters are kind and polite. The music played by a singer gave a nice atmosphere. Not to miss :)
