We were recommended this restaurant and it did not disappoint. The food was amazingly tasty and fresh with generous portions provided. I had the lamb tagine and it was the best I've tasted, the house wine was also very nice and the desserts were excellen. The space is really interesting and inviting similar to a pop up style restaurant in... More

Had an incredible meal here with some friends as it we were celebrating a birthday and although it's a little difficult to find, it's well worth the effort to track it down and pre-book. It only seats a few tables, opening promptly at 7.30 so not many seatings in a night. The food is authentically moroccan; we sampled all the... More

Boutique restaurant with a mixture of nouvelle cuisine and Moroccan food. Wonderful bread and appetisers, excellent soup and good fish. Cash only.

Food is amazing, ambient is pleasantly kitsch, though I recommend reservations 1 day in advance (we got a table though without one). Food isn't at all too expensive, had one of the best beef steaks ever (140 Mad - most expensive dish they serve) and gnocchi with almonds and Gorgonzola/ricotta (60 Mad). House wine is exquisite and the staff makes... More

We ate here on our first night in Essaouira. Strange little place with weirdly misplaced decor and a less than average menu. The steaks we had were okay but very expensive. This restaurant is starred but is frankly a classic case of style over content. Look around and you will easily find better and much cheaper.

Fascinating restaurant. It's upstairs, set in several rooms. The decor is weird, owing much to the '60s - old radios, old ornaments. old posters etc. The food is good and a bit different, but with plenty of choice. Service is friendly and helpful. I loved this restaurant, mainly because it is a bit different than normal.

Great food and a lovely atmosphere. The owner is obviously passionate about his restaurant and it shows in all the food we had. The tagines were very tasty and I can highly recommend the lemon sorbet for afters! The staff were very friendly and helpful and the decor is very chic. A definite must go for anyone visiting essouira.

Elizir is THE restaurant, how a restaurant in my opinion should be. Everything just suits, they SERVE you without being humble but rather sympathetic, the decoration is recognizable but unique and the food is delicious and you never have the impression you could make that yourself at home. It comes in generous portions and the presentation is a big surprise... More
