Tired of hotel food? This would be one of the cheapest alternatives. This food court is located on the other side of the river, slightly to the right of Hilton. Get across the river for 0.50 Ringgit one way. Don't forget to wear some mosquito repellant if visiting the food court after sunset. The boat will drop you off right... More

The river is a lovely place to walk at any time of the day: in the morning you can do your jogging and in the evening stroll around like many other Malaysian families do, take a rest on one of the banks and take something to eat or drink. A have my favorite stall for my ice coffee and another... More

Very near to all big hotel, just across the river after 50 cents boat ride. Lots of choices of local food & the important thing is very cheap! Local people also sell souvenir & t shirt for memento.

There is nothing to dislike about Kuching. The culture and food is superb. Very clean city although its quite small than other city in Malaysia. Its very safe here since most of the crowd is local people

During my stay in Kuching except the breakfast served by the hotel I had to eat at the eateries around. Most of the food served had the sweet taste, even the curry. Fortunately for me and my family, we happened to have dinner at the Chilli Pepper Restaurant, where the owner made an effort to cook the dishes as to my... More

I was looking forward to an evening of strolling on the waterfront and eating the local food. Sadly, the place is quite dismal ... nice view but little else. The choice of food was dismal ... the place lacked a hustle and bustle of a riverfront as you would get even in Malacca (or Kota Kinabalu or Penang).

Many stall along the Kuching waterfront. Try their local juice or drinks. Not very special but it simply local style. Kuching local people were friendly overall. At night, some street singer will perform nice music there. Dont miss it.

Depending on the time of day one can view locals enjoying the riverfront seating and various family and group activities and by night the various wares exhibited right on the Esplanade by many who simply move their goods from their daytime shops to open displays around which people wonder, ,bargain and simply congregate to see the variety

Many food stall, a lot of choices, but better food and value other places in Kuching. If you are going for the Riverview, then okay. If you are going for you wallet and or stomach choose another venue.

Just take a stroll anywhere around Kuching and you will find amazing eateries. I prefer eating local and made sure I tried the Sarawak items suggested on tourist brochures although I didn't need much tempting as I love laksa, noodles, curries, spices, etc. There are, of course, up market buffets at the hotels, and during Ramadan they are everywhere. I... More
