The New Year Eve's celebration wasn't too rousing and crowded. There are many stalls sell foods, drinks, snacks and souvenirs. You also can buy ticket to have a boat ride on the river.

Cheap street foods are available from stalls along the river. Some of them open only at night and can get a bit busy during weekends and holidays.

I am not sure which side of the river this review iseant to be for.....I guess both. The north side of the river (Kampung gersik with the kek lapis sarawak shops, and Fort margherita) has a proper foodcourt with around 8-10 stalls. The foodcourt serves a range of everyday, local food. So you will find your laksa sarawak, mee kolok,... More

A few stalls do serve made-to-order foods like fried rice etc. Other stalls deal with mostly hotdogs and burgers. Soda drinks and snacks, mostly to while you away if you came for a stroll. Generally, the taste of the foods is acceptable. You might want to cross over by sampan (boat) to the other side of the river, a place... More

Went in a group of 4. None of the dishes ordered were appetising. Disappointing Service was rather slow and unsystematic. Orders were sent to wrong tables. Being a tourist spot, I simply cant find anything that will attract me to return. except maybe for the nearby Sarawak Lapis cakes outlets

It's a boat ride away, it's cheap and it's good food. Every stall makes Laksa and it's a total treat to sit there and go through a bowl all by yourself.

Street food and hawker stalls are a big reason that Asia is such a great holiday travel destination. Kuching is no exception. The food stalls are on the other side of the Sarawak River and therefore you need to catch a riverboat across, for the princely sum of 50 sen per person. What a great way to start and finish... The riverside stalls have many varieties. If you stay near Hilton, you can cross the river and get to the other side where you can buy local delectable cakes called Kek Lapis Sarawak from Mira Cake House at RM10 per box. Tasty!!! You will have to take a 5 mins boat ride at the riverside opposite Hilton. 50 sen per... More

You can take a boat ride (50 sen per ride) from the jetty near Khatulistiwa Cafe to get across to that area. It's a food court. Highly recommended stall no. 11.
