AWESOME HIDDEN GEM

Having spent a few days here in Kota Kinabalu, we had found this cafe on the last day, what a shame we didn't find it earlier! Amazing food, friendly and polite staff! Excellent

This is a Hungarian restaurant that serves good food. Why do I rate it as "average"? Simply put the food was good but not the customer service [only if you are an asian/a local]. This was my 2nd time dining here. The 1st time I had lunch with my 2 Australian friends (they are white). Everything was good and the... More

Dear Traveller_SimplyME, Thank you very much for your feedback, I appreciate your comment and I do apologize if my staff made you feel uncomfortable in any ways. Can assure you it never been their intention, since they are trained to welcome and serve everybody the same way. We have a lot of international and local customers and so far didn't... More

It was great to find home flavors in the far east. The menu gave a good range of options and it was marked for allergies including gluten free which was very pleasing. The food was delicious and the owner very charming. Anyone visiting the area and want to try some European will find this place a delight.

If you want healthy food, this is the place. In 6 days KK we went here 3 times. The salad and wraps are really tasty. Staff is very friendly.

The restaurant was quite quiet when we arrived at around 6:30pm. We order 2 special meals that's not on the menu. One was a steak and the other was fried chicken with chips. The steak was relatively expensive compared to other food (especially the other restaurant). The chicken was a bit dry, but the fries were good. We also ordered... More

This restaurant offers amazing cuisine. Not only the best in Kota Kinabalu but internationally as well! It was surprising that the owner is Hungarian.

Good things : * nice food (however quality tends to change) * Accept cards * free Wifi The place is quite nice, however if i compare it to next door neighbour "el centro" this place is missing the atmosphere. sometimes food was not warm enough, example fries were almost cold and also the burger was more "warm" than "hot".

I think the only reason this is getting such a high rating is that the overal standard of the restaurants in KK just very poor. Don't expect too much. I had the supposedly morrocan lamb and couscous. It was lamb and couscous but than everything is said. Half of the lamb consisted of fat.

In my opinion the two top restaurants offering western type food in KK are El Centro and ChilliVanilla, which actually are located almost next to each other. As a whole I think El Centro is just a bit better but if you look at the food only it's hard to tell which one is better. ChilliVanilla has smaller portions than... More
