During my most recent visit to Penang, I was staying at the Bayview Hotel together with my family, which is a walking distance from this place. So, I guess it was inevitable that we would patronize this place. Red Garden is touted as a “one-stop”, “international” hawker centre, and indeed, you can find Thai, Japanese, Korean and other types of... More

Useful if everyone in the party wants to eat something different. Food generally ok, but much better options to be had elsewhere in Georgetown.

If you are worried about eating real street food then Red Garden is a safe bet, it's pretty much a food court with higher prices than other hawker food. My mum is Malaysian, and I've been eating Malaysian street food since I was a baby and this is not real Malaysian food, but a watered down version suitable for tourists.... More

This is a nice place to eat out at night and the variety of foods to choose from the hawker stalls. Prices are reasonable, and the place is just amazing.

This food court provides an array of hawker fare, so if you are unable to di e at Gurney Drive, dining here is a good option too. Prices are averagr. Food is pretty good.

Found the place rather noisy and crowded. Maybe it was a Sat evening. Food choices were abundant. However taste depends on individuals. I found it to be just average.

A wonderful budget food market with enough choices and enough atmosphere to keep most people happy. One especially good seafood stall. Close to Chulia and Muntri Roads. And you can get beer with food! I like the "foreign export" Guiness. About $6 a large bottle. :)

A bit of a haven for tourists just down the road from the Blue Mansion, and on the fringes of the heritage zone, the Red Garden is a busy hawker's centre with a wide range of local and some western stalls. Particularly famous for its live music with some not too bad performers providing background music on many nights.
