Food was average at best in the dining room. We chose to try out 6 of the tapas dishes. Only the soft shell crab would I rate as better than average. The room itself although uniquely decorated suffers from the overuse of the air con making it not to dissimilar to the interior of a fridge. Price wise, it comes... More

Decided to drop by Macalister Mansion for a meal during a recent trip to Penang. Amazingly restored mansion and tastefully done… wish we have something like that in KL. We had late lunch and afternoon tea. Simple menu but good value and quality food. They have a couple of Penang favorites like Laksa and Hokkien Mee. Pretty good considered they... More

As a couple on an Asia travel, we picked it for breakfast because of the good ratings on TripAdvidor but had no further look into the comments. It also looked a bit alternative on the first glance at the pictures. The staff was very friendly and the breakfast was enjoyable. We had a croissant set (18RM) that came with scrambled... More

Good place for photo-taking if you come in the day. The various dining areas are unique. I had dinner at the Living Room as its was either fine dining at the Dining room (French Cuisine) or Bistro Style at the Living Room. My friends and I were glad that we picked the Living room which was well-lighted and cosy. Overall,... More

We at Macalister Mansion value constructive criticism as much as praise - The reason we have been so successful to date is from listening to our clients. So as much as it pains me to read a bad review, there is always room for improvement. We will certainly look into those dishes which didn’t meet your expectations. More

Visited here today for lunch. Booked on line. Old house from "colonial" times. Sensitively restored especially the 2 eating areas. One the Living Room and the other a fine dining restaurant which only opens in the evening. Bright, airy dining area with 9 tables approximately. Simply but cleverly renovated. Resembling a conservatory/ garden room in England. Has fresh bread and... More

Very cozy corner at Macalister Mansion. Serves excellent breakfast. Small menu but good quality and value. Try the set lunch or the afternoon tea too! Afternoon tea is served with TWG tea. The decor is so soothing and comfortable that you can practically spend whole afternoon here.
