Kebaya is the diningroom of the Seven Terraces and is open to hotel guests and the public.Open daily, 7pm till 10pm.Christopher Ong has worked with the hotel’s chefs to create a menu of classic Indo and Straits Chinese Nyonya dishes. They have refined these using French cooking techniques and innovative produce to deliver surprising new twists on this already fascinating cuisine. The effect is simple, delicious full of flavour and dazzling.A four course degustation menu of entrée, main course, vegetables and dessert is served in Chinese style to allow guests to share the dishes. The Baba Bar is open daily from 2pm onwards, with live piano music in a very intimate setting.

Beautiful restaurant with first class service and wonderful food. One of those rare places that you suspect that everything on the menu is top rate so you can choose anything at all and be very well satisfied. From the moment you step inside, you know it's going to be special even before you see the menu. Jackie the major domo greets you warmly and professionally watches over the intimate setting while a concert worthy pianist plays in the background. A prix fixe menu of exquisitely inspired and prepared items to pleaseeveryone's taste. Flawless service. You won't be... More

During our stay at the Seven Terraces hotel we had dinner each evening at Kebaya. We were there during Chinese New Year and the dishes on offer reflected this....a fusion between Chinese and Malay. Whilst the menu was a little limited each of the dishes on offer were truly excellent. The were a choice of two appetisers/starters then you selected... More

A very popular venue, part of the Seven Terraces hotel. A pianist was playing in the bar area. The cuisine is local Peranakan or Straits Nyonya, presented in non traditional ways. The 4-course menu is prefixed, divided into appetisers, mains, greens, and desserts. The diner has to select an item from each group. We shared plates to have a taste... More

Dear sweetafton Thank you for your review of the Kebaya restaurant. We were delighted to read that you found the service to be 'friendly, informative, and efficient' and the 'portions generous'. As you mention Georgetown has very narrow little lane-ways and roads so parking might seem limited however in the evening there are plenty of parking spots available around the... More

The setting of Kebaya is in a very beautifully restored Peranakan dining room with 5 meter high ceiling surrounded by antique Peranakan plates and bowls and the whole ambience is one of the highlights of dining here. The food is sort of Peranakan with a modern twist. For a true Penangite like my mother who is adept at cooking and... More

We had three meals in this restaurant during our stay at Seven Terraces. My husband and I are vegetarian and they went out of their way to adapt existing options for us. Excellent meals in a beautiful setting

Had an amazing and memorable evening here with my husband. We had pre dinner cocktails whilst perusing the menu. The staff were so attentive and professional. The manager welcomed us and showed us pictures of how the building had been renovated - definitely with lots of thought and attention to detail. The decor, lighting, ambience, food, service and pianist all... More

This place is truly a well oiled machine. Service, food and ambience all come together in one fantastic package, from pre dinner cocktails thru to 4 course dinner thus was a first class dining experience. There was also a pretty decent pianist playing in the background during whole evening. The main course snapper and tamarind beef were excellent , the... More

I've been to Kebaya twice. Once with another couple and the second time for Valentine's day with my husband. On both occasions I had delicious food, excellent service, and beautiful ambiance. In my opinion this is the finest restaurant in George Town. I also enjoy starting in the bar area, which is very cozy and inviting, and being seated once... More
