So so

It is a rather popular haunt with locals and tourists. The inside of the restaurant is a bit small but very long in length. You can walk right to the back or take the stairs to to up to the upper floor. The prices of the the food and beverage is on the high end and not really worth the... read more

Not the first time we have visited here, iconic Malaysian cafe, with the best array and choice of cakes to suit all tastes. Set between 2 side streets, a narrow long establishment, well designed to make the best of the old locale. Art is the theme, from wall murals to an upstairs gallery, to table paper cloths for one to... More

It may be hot outside, but walk in thru the Beach Street entrance and you get a bit of a shade. It's always busy in the inside, but there are many nooks and crannies to this place, that I'm sure you'll find a spot that's perfect for you. There are homemade ice creams - personal favourites are the chocolate and... More

This is an old Chinese warehouse converted to Cafe ,museum and a rendevouz place . Most guides take you there for its ambience but has little to its acclaim on what it is meant for- food . We had sandwiches and chicken strips -both not much to write about . All in all a good hideout in summer for its... More

Definitely one of the best cafe/bar/restaurant in Penang. They serve good quality cakes and decent food. Be warned that the price is quite steep. The cafe is very artsy with oriental touch. There is an art exhibition space upstairs. The cafe is mostly busy whenever we were there. Staff were not the friendliest and dirty toilet. The reason why I... More

ive mixed feelings about here as I've visited quite a few times. The cakes are generally good quailty and interesting too. fri abs sat nights r busy in the bar area with live music too. But the main menu lacks quality, flavour and mean portion sizes. I've also saw cockroackes in the dining area and a rat coming out the... More

Heard this was a must try place but really unsure what the fuss is about! Very busy - maybe they all heard the same as I had. We were seated way in the back and no one came to take our order - had to play hunt the waiter and then find our own water when it didn't arrive despite... More

I came here for lunch with a friend. They had a bento special for the day. One bento for RM32 and RM61 for 2, sharing. My friend and I decided to order the Bento for 2 to share. What came out was a shocker. The portion was only enough for 1 person and the food was of low quality and... More

I came here as a friend suggestion. When we arrived the location is nice in the middle of George town and the decoration is lovely. But what shocked me us the price of the food. We ordered a bento set for 2 persons which cost us 61 RM!!! But what they have served us is totally nightmare. The portion is... More

We went to China House at about 830pm. As we were quite full, we only has dessert. I had read the reviews before coming. Overall service was ok. What you'd expect from a bustling place. They take your orders and go. The waitress didn't say much and she sounded more Filipina than Malaysian. Its a very pleasant walk from Chulia... More
