Pretty expensive dinner

Had early dinner on a Sunday night. Food is pretty expensive and cake was rather dry. Since we are early, the ambiance was suitable for catching up with friends. The wait staff is dress casually, it is hard to distinguish who are guests and who are the waiters when wanting to ask for service.

I dont think that there are many places which sell cheap drinks compared to other southeast asian countries because of the tax here in Malaysia. However, I think that other than that the atmosphere is nice plus there are bars, dining areas and a cafe all under one roof. They serve different kinds of food at different times and places... The cakes are to die for! The coffee excellent. The atmosphere and vibe is wonderful. It's one of those places where everything comes together to create brilliance!

There are many variety of cakes / desserts offered in this shop, you will be spoilt for choices ... I would recommend the Tiramisu, it is the best I have tasted, I like the candied nuts that was placed on top of the Tiramisu cake. & it is a little bit alcoholic, so just take note. The ambiance is great... More

To escape from the hot sun we stepped into the cooling interior of China House on Beach street. A visit to China House is like a dream came true ! The first thing that caught my eyes is all the fancy yummy cakes display on a huge decorated table ! I only seen such abundant of cakes in a cartoon... More

Gf and I decided to come to this place for dessert after a much more satisfying dinner (probably "cleaner" too) at a nearby roadside hawker. Food at ChinaHouse is decent, good icecream and lemongrass soda. But the bad points left me with an aftertaste which makes me want to boycott this establishment. 1) A big cockroach was spotted next to... More

Visited this place twice, first time for tea and cakes - to be honest the taste is so so, but at the time I thought maybe because I ordered general items : tiramisu and pistachio cakes. We came again the next day for breakfast and ordered french toast and one of breakfast set, and again, we think they need to... More

My cousins who have been here swears by the cakes here (they have plenty of options), in particular the tiramisu and salted caramel cheesecake. The cheesecake ran out so we ordered the tiramisu, chocolate silk tart and raspberry poppyseed hazelnut torte. My favourite was the poppyseed cake. The crunch is addictive. All three cakes were wiped out in a matter... More

The place is definitely worth visiting. I've heard so much about it from my friends. Plays at night etc and the lively bar. Sadly, I visited on a Sunday afternoon so it was mainly the cafe that was opened. The art gallery was pretty cool. The cakes were ok, not entirely fantastic and the prices are pretty steep. Perhaps the... More
