I heard this place with great food, drinks and live band. However it turned out to be a disappinting dinner. We ordered 2 mains. The spicy beef sausage and chicken breast spaghetti. The pasta was so dry. Taste wasn't there at all! Sausage was just ordinary. The servers can't even give proper explanation about their food on the menu! Pricey... More

I had a crunchy salad which was excellent. However, my colleagues had the Guinness steak pie which was rather tasteless and dry. Another has pasta with a secret ingredient which failed to impress. Art upstairs was dismal.

The service is terrible. I am not expecting a smile or bow to show me in. But I surely did have to find my own seat, get the menu from counter, ask for waiter to take order. The tiramisu is definitely over rated or perhaps to previous chef left. It is soft and watery and where is the taste of... More

I like to ambiance, the coffee and of course the tiramisu! There are variety of cakes for selection but i do think that are too sweet for me except the tiramisu. i used to order a cup of cappuccino and a slice of tiramisu. I had tried dinner set before, a bit pricey and the taste was just normal.

My sister has been telling me about China House and the huge selection of cakes available. Since my friend from Germany was with me, we came here after walking the streets of Penang to cool down with a cold drink and a slice of cake. As it was a Saturday, the whole place was very busy. Nonetheless, a Filipino server... More

Overall, I thought the place was alright. It has a lovely ambiance, the interior is pretty gorgeous and it was bustling with chatter and seemed like a nice place to chill out with friends. The range of cakes were impressive and we thoroughly enjoyed the vietnamese coffee cake and the peanut butter chocolate cake. However, one thing that spoiled it... More

Possibly the coolest eating and drinking spot in the old heritage centre of Penang. China House occupies two long shop-houses stretching from Lebuh Pantai to Lebuh Victoria at the back with a nice courtyard in between. Dining takes place downstairs and there is a boutique, art gallery and bookshop (Borders) upstairs. Had the steak and frites with a choice of... More

I came in here with my friends to relax and enjoy each other's company but sadly we had to wait for a long time to be seated. The staffs did not entertain us well and we had to request a few times for the bill. The main dishes we had was the chicken oie, spaghetti and the toasts. It was all... More
