Very good and cheap!

We went yesterday for lunch and then went back today for breakfast. Yesterday we had the fried rice with chicken, egg and veg which was yummy, good size portions for only 6 rm - less than 1 pound 20!! And had the big breakfast which included toast, scrambled egg, bacon and sausage plus tea or... read more

This restaurant's concept is to offer a very cheap lunch set. Obviously for RM7 you cannot expect quality and certainly they do not serve it. Yet, the food is acceptable and match the one serve in street food stalls outside. Unlike the neighbor Chin's "boutique" cafe, the price of the meal allows to tolerate very average food. The service is... More

There are tons of newly open cafe in Penang area recently. Each with different deco & atmosphere but most with same kind of price, which is "pricey". Trois Canon Cafe is one of my favorite cafe where it come with relatively cheap or so call reasonable price in town. This cafe is operate by family member which make me feel... More

This place would have coasted on dead average but they were literally saved by their bacon. The fried breakfast was pretty average but the bacon was some of the best I've eaten in Asia. The drinks are also reasonably priced at about 1.40RM for an iced coffee. The waiter was also really helpful and friendly. Worth a try just for... More

A super cool little diner on Chulia, where the food is good, the prices are cheap, and the people are kind. Easily the best prices for Western food that I have seen traveling through Malaysia. The serving size is ample--I'm usually disappointed, being a big eater--and the dishes are more than tasty. I loved the coffee. Tasted like diner coffee... More

We came here for brunch and had a very good value meal. I had a delicious tuna salad bagel with coffee and a little custard tart for RM10, and my husband had the Lumberjack Breakfast which he enjoyed - he said it was the best bacon he's had in 8 months away from the UK! (RM8) The 'sausages' were frankfurters... More

Really enjoyed our lunch-stop here in this very busy small cafe. It was full of local people but, as visitors, we were welcomed. The lady (possibly the owner's mother) was very patient and helpful in explaining the menu. We chose pork chop and rice plus a BLT in a soft roll instead of a bagel. The bacon was truly delicious,... Ordered local food and it was all very bland, not at all flavorsome like we had come to expect in Malaysia, it was pretty basic with no seasoning and very boring. Although the ambience is nice enough there are much better places to try nearby.

You got to love a place that has something called the Lumberjack breakfast. Essentially, it's a giant breakfast of eggs, bacon and the works brought to Penang by the cafe's young Penangian owner who lived for a while in Canada. While I didn't have that, I did have a bagel with butter, peanut butter and jam, which was delicious. We... More

This is a small cafe on backpacker-central Lebuh Chulia. It's a big cut above the average traveler's cafes. Good breakfasts are the speciality but it's a worthwhile lunch destination, as well. I had the BLT with cheese on a bun, rather than a bagel and it was outstanding. The bacon was Canadian-style rather than British/American streaky bacon -- quite delicious.... More
