Must go!

I wish we had found out about this place near the beginning of our stay in Georgetown. Excellent food, inexpensive. Good service. Plenty of fans to keep cool. Many locals. Go before 7 for dinner to avoid long lines.

Penang is renown to be food heaven and Tek Sen is testament of the accolade. I tasted literally every restaurant that was renown for their savoury dish on trip advisor and Tek Sen is the only one I have felt compelled to write a review about. Food in Penang is spectacular full stop, however, while one kuay teow may stand... More

We had 8 dishes for the four of us (2 adults and 2 kids) and we finished all of the dishes!! The food was simple but excellent and we enjoyed it very much. The cereal prawns were fresh and juicy, the bitter gourd spare ribs soup was tasty, the roast pork was tender, the sotong was chewy, etc. The service... More

Went to this restaurant after reading reviews on it. The restaurant is pretty full at any point but turnover is high. Ordered the fried roast pork with chili padi, curry fish and tofu which were recommended by some traveller a. They dishes lived up to their name. Enjoyable. The tamarind prawns I found it to be on the pricey side.... More

I have been to this restaurant for several time for lunch and dinner but only today I realize that some of the dish might be to costly, e.g. prawns 4PCs cost RM 30. The white rice portion compare to other local restaurant might consider small also.

I never miss eating at this restaurant whenever I am in Penang. Simple but delicious and flavorful home-cooked Chineses dishes. Service is efficient and quick; not sure if it's because I am always there at 6 pm to be one of the first patrons before the crowd turns up! This restaurant's attraction is not just the good food, but also... More

A great local favourite. Be sure to go early as the queue starts as soon as they open. Going in a small group or as a couple can give you a better chance of securing a table but you can't order as much. Food is awesome here!

This was our first meal in George Town and probably the most authentic and best. We arrived at 6 pm and the restaurant was packed. There was a short wait in the queue before we secured a table outside on the pavement - basic plastic chairs and tables. We had the double roasted caramelized pork, duck in ginger sauce and... More

To those fancy good home cooked food and a traditional touched. This is the place. Its not a great place, posh dining venue but food quality is equivalent to those served in 5* outlet. You will never complete your Penang experiance without a visit to this place. Local taste well preserved over 3 generations. Local cooked and family owned. Simply... More

Had their special pork, belacan kangkung and special tofu. I enjoyed the first two more than the tofu. Service quite quick as well! Worth the visit!
