French in Penang

Nice food and wine. Service was great too! A bit pricey and they don't serve beer or whiskey. We drank them out of port too! :)

We ordered the French onion soup, mushroom quiche and roast duck with black cherry sauce. The highlight was the duck.it was very well prepared and it just melts in your mouth. The macadamia potato mash was divine. The onion soup I found it a little acidic and sour. The mushroom quiche was delicious and the pastry well made. For dessert... More

If you love to drink wine, don't miss this restaurant. They serve good wine. Chef Tommes is very friendly. My husband love their bread. I personally like their Crusted Beef tenderloin & Asparagus cream soup. And of course we love their wine!

I chose to visit this bar based on previous reviews, place in the review list and proximity to where I was staying. All I can say is that the wine is better than the food which was uninspiring. There are plenty of other eateries in the area.

We had a great night at That Little Wine Bar in Georegetown, Penang quite by chance. We did not have a booking but Louise found us a spot. Little did we know it was a Special Food Innovation night accompanied by matched wines from Gascony. Chef Tommes treated us to Poached Oyster in a Cloud, a Carpaccio of Red &... More

Everytime I visit Georgetown I try to visit this delightful restaurant. The service is wonderful and there is always something interesting and tasty on the menu. You can always expect a great wine will be recommended. I heartily recommend "That Little Wine Bar"!

A couple of glasses of the house white (Cabernet Sauvignon) and the Pork Neck Steak were very decent, plus an interesting conversation with the sommelier. The wine was good value and served at exactly the right temperature, and the pork dish had lots of different flavours and altho the pork steak was tough to the knife, it was not chewy.

A friend & I each enjoyed a good glass of wine plus a tray of assorted cheeses at the Little Wine Bar while in George Town one evening. As the evening was very sultry, we stayed indoors in the refreshingly air conditioned atmosphere.

The Little Wine Bar serves their red wines by the glass at room temperature which in Penang is much too warm. We also weren't fans of their selections for wines by the glass. Now, the food. We had the Baked Camembert RM28, Seared Scallops RM28, French Onion Soup RM24, and my favorite, the Pork Neck Steak RM42 (YMMMMM). Red wine... More

We were new to Penang and Georgetown when we came across That Little Wine Bar. We went for their Thursday evening wine tasting, stayed for dinner and have been back weekly ever since. First up, the people are lovely. Chef Tommes will talk about food and his experiences around the world at the drop of a hat and it's never... More
