Checked out TA and decided to go to Kapitan during my trip to Penang. Tried the recommended dishes and added a few more. Food was delish and reasonably priced. Lots of interesting people to stare at. A real mix mosh of all types. Open air, so can be hot. Staff was very helpful and service was good.

Coming off of the sleeper train from Bangkok, my husband and I were ravenous. Kapitan was recommended in our Lonely Planet and as it was directly opposite the road where we were staying we decided to give it a go. By happy accident we sat down here for lunch one day and it was amazing! The food was GREAT (we ordered more after we'd finished eating just because it was all so good!!) and the staff were very friendly and helpful. Definitely worth a visit!

We loved this restaurant. The food was so good (and we tried many different dishes) the staff was really great and the price was so cheap. These three things make a great restaurant even greater. If you like Indian food do not miss this one.

Would definitely visit again! Had the naan which was great......had the chicken butter masala....delicious.....had briyani rice.....loved the sauces also. Would recommend to anyone...service was good and prompt.

The naan tandoori served here tasted better than queensbay kapitan in bayan lepas. But as for them atmosphere and cleanliness, I'll give it a C. The outside table is placed near drench and stinks, it killed our appetite.

Ate here about 5 times. I liked everything but my favs were: Chicken Tikka Masala Butter Chicken Masala Biriyani Rice Naan Lime Juice Quite cheap. Food quality very good. Service was usually friendly and efficient. Would suggest sitting upstairs. Seems to be the same price but much nicer seating and atmosphere!

Curry for 3 and all the trimmings, a round of drinks (lassi) for a £10! Curry superb and the best nan bread I have ever had!
