Wonderful authentic Indian food!

My partner and I were so excited to find Little India in Georgetown. We live in India and since leaving last year to travel SE Asia have really missed the food there! This place really was authentic! We had breakfast here every morning- it was great to be able to have pongal again! Staff were very... read more

Quiet, relatively clean place. Can get very busy and crowded on Tuesday nights and Friday nights. Then you might have to wait for a table. Usually less than 30 minutes. The food is great. Tasty and authentic South Indian but they do have North Indian dishes as well. They have great great South India coffee.

.....what more can you wish for?...AC?...you get that too! Eating on the street is pleasant, but it's HOT here; so this indoor AC eatery is a great break from the heat. We ate here 3 times, trying many dishes, and all very tasty. Each visit, ordering for 3 people, the bill never exceeded 45 ringgits. Be sure to sample the... More

I love Indian food, and have never had such a good Palak Paneer. I may never be able to eat palak paneer again after tasting their version- it was unlike anything I have ever eaten. Each dish we got was so flavorful and amazingly good. It took awhile for the orders to come out, but it was worth the wait.... More

It's a small but very efficiently run restaurant that serves authentic South Indian food. Delightful on the palate and not aggressive to the senses with too much spice, we always turn to this place when craving one of the worlds healthiest breakfasts, the classic idli-sambhar and dosai! North Indian food is more of a influenced by southern spices but enjoyable.... More

Long list of delicacies worth trying, though if you really like dosas, there's even more selection across the street at Sri Ananda Bahwan. We were craving south Indian when visiting Woodlands, and tried pea uttappam and onion rava masala dosa. Both were well done. Good spicy tasting sambar but chutneys were quite acidic in taste. Friendly service and nice athmo.... More

Every week on Fridays especially, I would drive 45 mins from my place just to have breakfast or lunch here. The service is super steady and fast. The food taste marvelous with all the spices mixed together creating that some sort of "Chennai" feeling being there. Don't miss it. The place is clean and the food is healthy!!!

Tucked away in the middle of Little India IN George town and walking distance from Fort Cornwallis is New Woodlands Hotel. A branch of the New Woodlands Hotel from Chennai, India this restaurant offers the same yummy south indian fare one would find back home in Chennai, India. The Meals platter/Thali is sumptuous and also quite a value for the... More

My husband and I came here on our trip to George Town, and came back twice while in town! The lunch sets at 6 ringgit are a fantastic deal, but our favorite dishes were the dosas, uthapam, and the famous mango lassis. The Lonely Planet is right- they are the thickest in town, and the best I've ever had. Don't... More
