We read about this dim sum street. Looked forward to it! Once we unloaded our luggage at the hotel, we headed for Foo San because it was the closest to our hotel. Date: 20 Dec 2014. Time: 12.30pm. I can't agree more with TA reviewer, Santawong, "wasted our stomach space". The dim sum was self-service, so I went to the... More

Service slow. Staff sour face. Dim sum lack varieties. I didn't enjoy it at all. Wasted my stomach space.

Used to be the best Dim Sum location in Ipoh city 20-30 years ago. But when they moved to the new, large premises the ambiance may have improved but the food quality declined. Still a good place to eat & bring tourist (especially Caucasians) but not for really good Dim Sum.

If you are solely there for the taste of food, I would say, there is nothing surprising and it's not economical. It is one of my breakfast place because I enjoy the ambiance. It has open ventilation (not like most of the dim sum restaurants nearby which are enclosed and heavily air conditioned) because I do very much enjoy my... More

Foo San Dim Sum is a household name for Ipoh residents, especially the oldies. It was operated in the ground floor of an independent building of a Chinese cultural NGO. Old Ipoh residents liked to "yam zou cha" there with family members or friends as early as 5 a.m. Owing to security reasons, the starting time was delayed till 6 a.m.... More

we dropped in around 10:30 on a Saturday morning not expecting to get a table but we managed to get one upstairs. We found the staff to be very friendly and the food was excellent. Really loved the egg custard tarts, yuuuummm. Price was about the same as what we pay in KL but tastier, could really taste the herbs... More

Written up in the past as one of the famous dumpling houses. It now seems to big to focus on quality. Ming Court was closed so we went to Foo san. There was nothing much going on here from the self service to the average Prawn Dumpling. Although I did enjoy the custard tart and the chaw siew bao. Next... More

Went over to this restaurant for our Dim Sum during lunch. Reasonable varieties of Dim Sum available. Tried their Xiao Long Pao but they are mediocre. If you are hungry and just wants to fill-up your stomach, this is okay. However, if you want something that is tasty, delicious and memorable, then this might not be a good choice. There... More

Dim Sum breakfast is what we did whenever we were in Ipoh. Fushan is the main place we think of for the delicacy. Yet, our recent visit was not much what we were expecting anymore. Actually the first place we were thinking of going was across the road - Ming Court, which happens to be close on the day of... More

If you dont want anyone breathing down your necks while eating, then you have to be an early bird in Restoran Foh San. Food is above average & a bit pricey. You can take away as there is a take away counter. The counter staff was pleasant & greeted me courteously & she asked me how many people so that... More
