Initially wanted to go Ong Kee restaurant but closed. So we went next door, corner shop Lou Wong. Afternoon, it was packed but inside ventilation is good, so u feel comfortable. Ordered one whole poached chicken, beansprouts, chicken livers and chicken feet thai style. Overall, food is very satisfying, above expectation. Chicken rice and hor fun soup noodle is also... More

Lovely noodles and the great tau geh gets my vote. My kids liked the fishball with noodles, as The chicken not tender. Chicken too bony and not much meat. But we ordered half a chicken so guess we got the bony part. A bit bloody in the bone area for some pieces near the marrow. Chicken rice was ok, but... More

Too many reviews on this place in blogs made me dream of this all the way from KL...BUT...it is just so-so to me. Not fantastic till I would recommend this place.... My wife likes it but she is not a chicken rice lover like me or my 7 year old. Both of us felt it was just...OK. Service is very... More

The chicken doesn't look very yummy - in fact it looks "cold". The taste mostly comes from the source they pour all over the chicken & bean sprouts. Very saltish - but taste OK. The bean sprout was not very tidy - a good number of green sprout "skin" spoils the look. Price wise - to me, not worth the... More

Heard about this place and recommended as Ipoh's arguably finest eatery for bean sprout chicken. So the meal features mainly on two star items; boiled chicken and bean sprout. What is the fuss, you may ask? When the chicken and bean sprout were served with my ordered bowl of soupy "sar ho fun" (flat rice noodle type), I could not... More

So sad to say that the chicken was skinny and chopped in small pieces . We were not able to really taste the meat as it was too boney with little meat .Maybe chicken was not really matured for consumption yet . Very disappointed . Bigger pieces chopped and served would have made the difference .

I have visited Penang George Town and KL often. I live and work in Singapore. Recently I stumbled across this resturant and was very impressed at how tasty n succulent the chicken was. The rice was wonderfully tasty too. I have been very bored with food lately in the 3 major cities and this was refreshingly good. Good value for... More

We were taken here by Ipoh locals who suggested it was the best bean sprout chicken in Ipoh. The food was very good and not dry as other reviewers indicated. The service was good even if it took a few attempts to get drinks but friendly enough. I'd come back when next in Ipoh.

For me, nothing special. But still worth trying since it is a specialty food in Ipoh. What disgusted me was the workers. Literally, all the workers there smoke. I am fine if they smoke somewhere else but not near to the food area. Some even smoke while cleaning up the tables or chopping the chicken which was so unhygienic!!!!
