Lou Wong bean sprout & chicken~

I came across this chicken rice shop from friends' recommendation. Personally, I tried and find it average where I could found better chicken rice anywhere. It was quite expensive as well. However, worth trying for the bean sprout. It was juicy!

This is one of the famous but the branch I went which is located in old town is very average. Not that great.

The saving grace is the noodles. I have better chicken and bean sprout elsewhere. Maybe this place is getting too commercialized and the quality is dropping

Went on a Saturday night and as expected, it was very crowded. Service was a bit slow but the food made up for it!

I am back in Ipoh again after a gap of several years and the first place we visit for dinner is the Lou Wong Restoran. In a group of 7 adults and 4 children we get seated immediately at this busy restaurant which turns over customers at a fast and furious pace. The atmosphere is both welcoming and bustling, but... the chicken is served cold and tasteless. only the bean sprout is good. Visited few times before and getting disappointed with the environment. we were sitting beside the drainage with disgusting smell. don't understand why so crowded.

This restaurant is close to our hotel and was extremely packed during our few visits to the restaurants nearby. Parking is extremely a nightmare and we paid Rm2 to get a temporarily parking spot. We located a table and jand just ordered the famous chicken rice for lunch. We were more enjoyed with the fish ball soup (despite not being... More

There are 2 main shops selling beansprout chicken along this street. I was recommended by the locals to come to this one. The food is SO good! The beansprout chicken is damned good. You will not regret it. Service, as the westerners know it, is non-existent. This shop do things the traditional way i.e. we do whatever we need to... More

11 RM for their specialty bean sprout chicken. That's a rip off in Malaysia considering the chicken portion is smaller than the standard Hainan chicken you get in Singapore. Also the chicken is really boney and has no taste. Yes the bean sprouts are huge. However this dish is what people in HK would call poor people's food. So it's... More

not so much surprised by the bean sprout chicken after high expectation. since they are serving nearly all same food in that street so still acceptable after a long hungry day.
