Best Thai I have had outside of Thailand

Great service and food so good it will make you want to lick your plate clean. Surrounded by lush greenery, it is like dinning with mother nature.

We love Thai food and we ate at this restaurant at the Datai more than the others. The food was wonderful, the service was exceptional and in a stunning location. The restaurant is on 30m stilts in the forest canopy although you just walk into it from the hotel pool area. Budget about £50 per head.

A lovely setting with really terrific food and a great atmosphere. We loved it and would strongly recommend it to anyone looking for authentic Asian food albeit at 5* hotel prices.

Stunning setting at The Datai hotel, Langkawi. Save the visit for a special occasion, and you will not be disappointed! Had the best ever prawn and lemongrass spring rolls to start. The red Thai curry was fantastic. Very attentative, but discreet service,- just how it should be of a restaurant of this standard. Only wish we hadn't left it for... More

The nicest Thai food, period! I loved the perennial favourite 'Thai green chicken', also enjoyed finishing my wifes beef massaman

Extremely expensive, but truly great Malay food and an unbeatable environment. The hotel is the top in luxury and so this is a fitting poolside restaurant. Had a great lunch here.

The buffets (breakfast and evening) were fine but not special. We had the ala carte menu one evening and quite enjoyed the food.

Lovely restaurant with very good food. How ever the staff all seemed very serious and there was a strange atmosphere there.

Unless you are staying in the Datai resort, expect to have to drive along a windy road to get here. Bear that in mind if you are considering sampling from the extensive wine list. The food cannot be faulted - authentic Thai with fresh herbs grown on the premises. Portions are generous and pricey, so be careful not to over-order.... More
