Johor has such a wide and diverse arrangement of restaurants and eating places, how do you decide where to eat? Having international travelers and wanting that special place, where work and pleasure crosses over, unwinding in the relaxed wine bar environment, before tantalizing and titilating ones tastebuds on perhaps the best steak in town. Wine choices from around the workd... More

Delicious food but portion was a little small and pricey. Good service. Staffs were attentive and polite. The surroundings outside the shop felt abit unsafe and uncomfortable. Beside the restaurant was a mechanic and above it was a budget hotel. Parking was not a breeze.

Most global folks agree that when in JB or even across the Causeway that an evening or two in Chez Papa is worth all efforts! Each visit is both an adventure and comfortingly familiar at the same time. In agreement that the area is in transition, but would like to comment as a witness over decades that established businesses weathering... More

Delicious escargots, passable salad, rich and creamy dauphinoise potatoes with the steaks. Good wine list, though it was pricey, even by local standards. The steaks were disappointing. I'd happily eat a chewy, flavourful steak, but my steak was more chew than flavour. I was looking forward to desserts, but the chocolate pot and creme brulee were small and overpriced. Service... Went in March for my birthday. Plate presentation amateur and steak not rested. Expensive for a pub style meal. Highlight was a good crepe Suzette at the end of a very average meal.

This restaurant is pricy for Malaysia and over time the neighborhood has become run down, and as often is the case in Malaysia, parking is very bad....but it is all worth it. The decor is quaint and the ambience is almost 'there'. The food is just like eating in a small family restaurant in French town and the quality is... More

For the sake of fairness, I ordered a beef steak, lobster, french tart and some alcoholic drink. The lobster was not very fresh, the steak is cooked well but not seasoned. The tart was pretty good. Let compare apple to apple. The price is not cheap. The environment is poorly done for the price. The food is average for the... More

I first came here 7 years ago and was delighted that it was still here and still owned by the same people. The quiche was probably the best I have ever tasted, and the steaks were done to perfection. An excellent and inexpensive bottle of wine complemented the meal. There is nothing to fault here - highly recommended!
