We had heard a lot about this restaurant but were very disappointed with food. We were the only people there for lunch and we ordered prawns which were off - they smelt and tasted foul. Although the waiter changed them without any fuss the rest of the food was of a very poor standard so the experience was not enjoyable... More

This restaurant is near Vasco Da Gama Pillars, small cosy, fully aired with fans. Pleasant waiter. Very good in seafood, grilled Red Snapper was chargrilled n really delicious . The prawns are good sized and very well flavored . Will definitely go back when I am in Malindi. Keep it up

This was some of the best seafood I have ever had not just in Kenya but anywhere in the world. Coupled with a friendly welcoming atmosphere I would recommend assuming the current challenges on the Kenyan Coast reduce.

Probably the best seafood restaurant in Malindi. Top notch service Denis Masambo was our waiter that night and he was amazing. If you're in Malindi and haven't been, you're truly missing out and if you have plans to visit the town, do make it a point to have your lunch or dinner there. I had the grilled lobster and personally... More

Some of the best seafood you'll find along the Kenyan coast (or anywhere else in Kenya). Have visited twice and have always been impressed with the seafood menu and wine selection. The sailfish dishes are particularly reccomended and the cocktails are outstanding too. The ambiance is nicely cosy and old-fashioned. Service can take a while since it appears that the... More

Very nice cosy place to eat fresh seafood. The place is small and the staff are friendly. The restaurant makes very nice vegetables plates to complement the delicious seafood.

The Old Man & The Sea Restaurant is a family-owned establishment on the Malindi beachfront, situated in the old town sector on Mama Ngina road, close to the Vasco da Gama Pillar. The food is deliciously exquisite and the service unobtrusive but attentive. Whilst the restaurant specializes in fresh seafood - crab, tuna sashimi, giant prawns, kingfish, lobster, and my... More

If you are in Malindi this is a must! Went with 2 of my daughters on my birthday and really enjoyed the experience. The restaurant is simple - and there was a power cut - but the food is so so good. Spoke to the chef, who recommended giant prawns, which were squeakingly fresh and perfectly cooked. Washed down with... More

Not bad at all, but the Driftwood was better! We went twice and enjoyed ourselves both times. One big moan would be that they don't include all the taxes in the price, so you get lulled into a false sense of security when ordering as the exclusion is only declared at the bottom of the last page of the menu

The restaurant was so quaint, tiny and amazing (visually). IT was perfectly themed and had some really nice decor. The food was particularly good, especially the seafood.
