Food is really nice, but staff is not really attentive to guests.prices are not expensive. Comfortable location. They don't have reservations on weekends. It's not really good.

Being very honest, as you may see from my previous reports I never liked this place soo much but visited from time to time as it is the only place to meet expat friends in the city. Neverless I got aware of a disgusting story about the owner which will make me never come back to this place again. As... More

Let's be honest, it is a pub with pub food and is popular with expat and local. There is no smoking inside any more, as that is the law in Kazakhstan. If you want to watch the 6 nations Rugby, or any other international rugby match, then it is likely to be on here. The English Premier league football is... More

Good bar, busy and a fun place. Went with a group which is great - it's not for romantic couple dining. All the food seemed good, good service and a pleasant place. Waitress was a sweetie! Worth a visit just for her; she had the ability to deal with the group, take the orders, deliver the dishes and be very... More

Shakespeare was one of my first Expat restaurants to visit. I was yearning for some Indian food so my friends recommended we go there. I went with my British colleagues as well, one of them who can cook Indian as well. The owners and servers are great. Customer service was very good. I ordered one Indian dish which was good.... There are 2 reasons why I like Shakespeare: first is an amazing Tikka Masala, second - good time with friends. Staff is always friendly and helpful, and what is the most important - they all speak english =) If you are foreigner in Almaty seeking for a place with good and reasonable priced food - that's the place for you.

A nice bar with reasonable food and prices are OK. It is a friendly place and well located. In the summer the outside area is great.

Very reliable! Every time we go there (at least once a week), the food is amazing! We find that it's quite easy to get disappointed with the food in Almaty restaurants. Shakespeare is always good. I could eat their curry every night. It's not the cheapest but not any more expensive than any other restaurants in Almaty. At least you... More

Based on the review on here I decided to pop in one night for dinner. I bumped into some colleagues so I ended up staying longer than planned, but that was no bad thing. The choice of food was good, some typcial english, some just more western, the quality of the food was also good but I did find the... More

As close as we are ever going to get to a proper pub in Central Asia. A healthy mix of expats and locals in this popular 'local' with regulars and familiar faces. Good beer (not cheap), good menu of local, Indian and British fare, footie at the weekend and darts at any time. That will do fine.
