We were lucky to get a table in this restaurant. Probably we looked too hungry and the lady at the front counter pitied us, just after saying the restaurant was full. They assigned us a table on the second floor. We had assorted sashimi, seaweed tempura and peanut tofu. The fish melted in our mouths, as well as the silky... More

Try this place for our family's first dinner in Ishiagaki and we were stunned. The quality of sea food is utterly impeccable. If you think you know "tuna" after a few visits to Tokyo, you have not seen (or tasted) the real tuna yet. Tuna sashimi & sushi Spicy Shirmp Sea urchin noodle (Kind of pasta) Chicken skewers (Yakitori).... All... More

Due to the high volume of customers, I had to miss out on this restaurant on my first-day in ishigaki and make a reservation for the next day's dinner. Note that only an hour and a half is allocated and your last order is taken 15-30mins before your time slot is up. Make sure to try the maguro sashimi and... More

Like a lot of other people are writing, you need to eat the sushi with tuna, and for sure take the set since the price is very good. In general all the things we tried was very good quality and very tasty. they do have a english menu which is helpful.

While this restaurant is a bit hard to find, it is worth it! We made a reservation the same day. We needed to eat early because we have a baby who needs to be in bed at a decent time. This place opens at 5pm. It is a true izakaya, you order many small dishes. As others have said, there... More

This is a small restaurant with lots of fine foods especially tuna. English menue is available. Reservation is absolutely needed - and has to be done a few days before your visit. Price: tuna sushi set (4 sushi and 6 maki) 980 yen. Sashimi mix for one person 900 yen, for two 1500 yen. You can get warm dishes as... More

Have been to restaurants/Sushi places from allover to Japan.... ranks right up there. Opens at 17:00...and there WILL be a line! We got lucky and were walk-ins. ordered a little bit of everything and were very happy. other raters said "better tune than Tsukiji in Tokyo"... I wouldn't go THAT far... but, pretty damned good! Also, not NEARLY as pricey... More

I can honestly say that I just had the single best thing I've ever eaten in my entire life--the 大とろ at Hitoshi. The maguro here is better than at Tsukiji Market in Tokyo. I actually cried while eating it. I cannot more highly recommend this place. It's shockingly cheap given the quality and popularity. Do not skip this place and... More

I first tried to get in the restaurant on Saturday evening. I first call them but they did not speak any English. After that I have visited them since my hotel was nearby and tried to get in. They offered me to wait perhaps 2 hours.. I was too hungry that time to wait so I agree to come back... More

Hitoshi has 2 shops; Ishiganto at Ishigaki Okawa 197, and the main shop (Honten) at Shinei 15-8. The shops are a bit noisy as they are Izakaya after all, but the food is simply delicious. the umibudo-salad with poached egg was nothing short of spectacular, and you must be a fool not to order the maguro (tuna) sushi set as...
