You won't be disappointed, eel was delicious, and ambiance was a flashback to what one would have experienced even a few hundred years ago, with traditional Japanese seating, sliding doors, and music. If in Nara for two nights, would highly recommend this as one of the dinner choices. Was great with young kids.

I celebrated my girlfriend’s birthday here, and both of us ordered the famous eel meal. The pirce of my meal there with my girlfriend worked out to be around 5,000 Yen for the both of us. Good atmosphere with Japanese style seating, and you would have to remove shoes before entering the compound and wear their slippers. Staff speaks basic... More

We went to this restaurant based off of reviews and were not disappointed. Originally a bit put off because there was only one other group there. However it had great food, presentation, and environment. The staff had minimal English but this was not a barrier due to English menus. Price was 75USD for 3 people.

Based on Tripadvsier reviews, decided to give this restaurant a try being a bit more upmarket than and specialising in eel. Formal Japanese seating in traditional environment Had good choice of set lunch. Would recommend to those who want to try the eel in formal, traditional settings. Don't forget to remove slippers (provided), when sitting down to your table.....

Located at the end of a shopping district, this restaurant offers affordable and nice food in a traditional Japanese restaurant. It offers dishes with eel and other Japanese food. Highly recommended..

We had a great meal in this restaurant that specialises in eel. Enjoyable sashimi and eel with beers and hot sake. Lots of pointing and smiling worked well. We sat at the table with a well for our feet and the next table was a Japanese family of grandparents, daughter and grandsons - one of whom was doing his maths... More

Fantastic traditional Japanese food, served in small dishes and boxes. We loves the grilled eel and sashimi. There are also some chicken options. Everything was tasty, but not overly salty. For two set meals and sake, it costed 6000 yens. We went in after a long day of walking and we were feeling cold. We were happy to find the... More

We enjoyed everything in this restaurant: the fantastic Japanese food, the very professional service and the restaurant itself very traditional with Japanese lounges and tables. The price was also very good and not so expensive. Very good option in Nara.
