It's a bit of walk uphill leading to Kanaya Hotel off the Romance Highway. Best to ask the people from the hotel as it could be tricky to find if you don't know where Kanaya Hotel is. We ordered Japanese Beef Steak and Pork Spareribs. The steak is so soft that it melts in your mouth whilst the spare ribs... More

This restaurant is halfway up the driveway to the Kanaya Hotel and is one of very limited choices for dinner in Nikko. We walked in on a Friday night and there were only two other tables occupied. I think most people either have dinner included at their hotel or only come to Nikko for the day, which is the reason... More

I was travelling around Nikko with my mother and we wanted to find a place for dinner. It was not even 7pm and the darn town was already a ghost-town. Hardly anything (decent) was open in downtown Nikko. We veered left into the Kayana hotel along the Romantic Highway after looking giant posters with the promise of steak. We weren't... More

I went here since it was right next to my hotel. Got the cheapest steak set. The steak was amazing, tender, delicious, and mouth-watering!

After an early morning commute from Tokyo and exploring the shrines and temples all morning, we were eager for a hearty meal and a comfortable place to rest and reflect on the beautiful things we had seen. The restaurant is located off the main street and tourist thoroughfare and up a steep driveway which the restaurant shares with a hotel.... More

For all the ideas we may have that everything the Japanese eat comes from the sea, the nation's cuisine includes some wonderful things involving beef. Unlike most American steak houses, the point here is not to eat a 30 ounce Delmonico or New York Strip. It's to have a moset amount of really good beef that has been prepared with... More

Seriously expensive for an average steak experience... Wanted to be blow away at these prices and didn't think my steak was anything special. Service was sparse and curt to say the least. Was a waste of money and would suggest you look for another steak house to go to. Place was clean and quiet. Convenient to the hotel but easier... More

We were given suggestions and a map of the restaurants in Nikko in our hotel. We decided to go to this steak house as it was so close and had a good reputation. It was a 5 minute walk up the hill from our hotel! The hotelier had also told us that it was good but a little expensive. However,... More

We had planned for a fantastic feast as a reward after photographing on April10'13 around Toshogu Shrine, Taiyuinbyo, Rinnoji Temple, Kanmangafuchi Abyss since morning ...and used snacking as main walk driver.... so after the last stop at Shinkyo Bridge we headed up the small hill beside on the right for "Mihashi Steak house" and it was the perfect day for... We had a wonderful meal at the Mihashi in Jan 2013. The highlight of the meal was the sizzling plate of Hen of the Woods mushrooms. They are served on a piping hot cast iron plate. At the table the waiter then pours a garlic and beef stock sauce over them which hisses and steams and envelops you in a... More
