Went here for lunch on Sunday without a reservation and were told we would have to wait about ten minutes. It turned out to be a little longer, but they have a policy of giving you a credit on your bill for making you wait. Started with a glass of Moët and Chandon (Dom Perignon is also available... read more

We ordered 7000 yen full cource menu which included shark fin soup, big shrimp with chili sauce and fried noodles with oyster sause, etc. I loved annindofu (an almond... More

Heichinro is one of the most well-known, established venues in Yokohama Chinatown. We had a group dinner in a private room upstairs and ordered more than several dishes. Verdict: It's just an OK, not anything notable. Dumplings and tofu dishes were not impressive, so do not order these. Noodle dishes were OK. I ordered a coconut pumpkin oshiruko dessert (like... 4 of us went for lunch yesterday while touring Asia for 27 days. Probably the most elegant restaurant with equal service that we have experienced. 7 floors - oldest restaruant in Chinatown in Yokohama. If you must wait they give you credit on your bill. Served hot hand towels on silver trays both before and after the meal. Checked our... More

Being familiar with Cantonese cooking since my childhood, brings to me the ocassional cravings for its taste. it became my answer when since living in Japan beginning 2009. To me it is all about familiar tastes, solid and consistent....ultimate comfort foods.
