very good dining experience

Seven of us arrived at 1:00 on Sunday. All had different dishs: fresh salmon al a Berse, trout almonndine, veal parm, seafood carbonera, broiled sea scallop, fettuccini alfredo with scallops and tortellini alfredo. We also had fried calamiri, heart of artichoke and crab cakes as appetizers as... read more

I had the chicken Marsala, it was awesome, best I have ever had. The salad was awesome, and I don't even like salads, the entire meal was perfect, the tiramisu was great. It's an older couple that runs the place, they are very nice and attentive. I look forward to my next meal there.

From appetizer to both meals, totally not what we ordered. veggies were dry leftover and wilted! Ordered calamari got fried frogs legs! The wife ordered filet Mignon med. and got a 6 oz. steak of some sort very well, dry and whatever. I ordered the frogs legs for dinner in garlic and oil and got fried frogs legs again. she ordered... Valentino's sits atop a hill off Route 5 in the little hamlet of Cranesville. The owners are delightful people who strive to please your palate. Before your meal you are served a relish tray with homemade pepper biscuits. Then comes your salad. Then your meal. I have never been able to finish this dish and always have enough left for... After dining here a number of times I am finally writing a review. The owners are from Italy and the husband was schooled at a prestigious chef school in Paris [think Cordon Bleu]. His heritage and schooling are evident in the menu selections. As noted in others the salad is very crisp as well as the vegetable platter. This last... More

I am surprised by all the good reviews this place has received. I can only say three good things about it: the view, the homemade bread, and the friendliness of the owners. The salad and small veggie platter were both excellent because they were cold and fresh. But the meal went down hill from there. I thought the mozzarella stix... More

Lovely restaurant with well-prepared food. The home-made bread and pepper sticks were delicious, the fresh vegetable tray and salad were crisp, the wine was smooth, and the main course was filled with old-fashioned good taste. The couple who own and run the restaurant are warm and friendly. The restaurant itself is old-style and quiet with a nice view.

A nice location with a beautiful view, food is average and prices too high. I would recommend this if it was your first romantic date or a very special ocsassion, but not just to "go somewhere to eat".

We have frequented this restaurant for many years, so our visit was not unique. The meals at this establishment are consistently delicious. The sauce is by far, the finest I've had, velvety smooth with such mellow flavor. This chef can make the simplest fare superb. From rack of lamb, to au gratin potatoes to Italian green beans, notable no matter... More
