Great restaurant in Kanazawa

Fun venue---easy to get to across street fro Kanazawa station. Our family (4 adults) had a great evening there: good food, friendly service, reasonable price/ private rooms. The duck stew was very good, sashimi also very good. We went on a Monday night and did not need a reservation. There were... read more

We could choose from a limited English menu. I choose the "meat" skewers. They did not know what kind of meat. Well, when the dish arrived it seemed to be bacon and chicken skin!!! 3 pieces. Awfull taste. That was all besides of 3 pieces of spring union and half a musroom. Drinks were full with ice so the real... More

We settled on Daiba after wandering around central Kanazawa, not having anywhere particular in mind (when the intended restaurant was closed). It proved to be an excellent choice, as both the food and service were faultless. We chose a number of dishes from the extensive menu so were able to experience a good slice of the available food. Each dish... More

We came here based on TA reviews, and we were not disappointed. Both the sushimi platters and the cooked dishes were excellent ~ so good that we came back the next night, something we rarely do. While it's true that they have a menu in English, we found that the waitress was quite willing to make suggestions. I found their... More

This highly rated and popular and easy to see why. Conveniently located near the station (what a work of art!) this izakaya proudly serves the regional food style called, "Kaga Ryori,' the Kanazawa sub-regional cuisine of the Noto peninsula, which the locals are proud and extremely happy to serve. First up, they have Yebisu beer on tap, the beer I... More

We visited on a Saturday evening so things were a bit hectic and the food took a while to arrive, however we were not disappointed when it did! Nice warm atmosphere and the different types of seating arrangements are good. The English menu was slightly limited in options, but nevertheless we did not struggle to choose.

It is across from the station to the left. The outside has golden glowing lanterns. It was welcoming and the food was good. We shared an assortment of dishes -soya beans, pickles, yakatori sticks, tempura veges (outstanding) etc . It is tastefully decorated with a variety of seating styles. Well worth a visit.

We ate here as it was not far from our hotel the Ana Crown Plaza. It might be difficult to find though as it doesn't have an English sign. Directions from the train station east entrance - turn left, walk passed all the bus stop until you get to the zebra crossing the main road outside the station, cross over... More

Full disclosure: I live in Kanazawa, a city loaded with excellent restaurants, but even so, I've returned to Daiba many times. As previous reviewers have noted, they do have an English menu, and while it only represents about 40% of their total offerings, it's a fair sampling of local specialties. Rather than ordering individual dishes, this is "izakaya" style, similar... More

Definitely use Alex's matchbox photo to find the restaurant as there is another restaurant kitty corner across street and you may get confused. Once inside if no one is at front desk, push the service button. We sat in back at tatami room tables, but there are also western style tables for those who have trouble getting up and down... More
