Not much english spoken at this restaurant, however we were familiar with yakiniku and were ok. If in doubt always check what other diners are doing! The food was excellent

Recommended by our guest house. The beef was really good. Bell on each table for service , great idea especially when it takes twice as long to work out what to have. Place a bit on the bland side and novelty of grill it yourself wears off.

Was happy to be immediately seated after a long day of travel. After checking into our nearby hotel, quickly set off to find a restaurant that served famous "Hida Beef". Fortunately Maruaki was close by as the sidewalks in Takayama were snowy and slipperey. Our group of 4 were seated immediately. After educating ourselves how to order, we began trying... More

We arrived Takayama on 25th December 2014 and stayed at Super Hida Takayama Hotel. Maruaki was not far to walk from where we stayed but the trouble was snow and walk way was very slippy. When we arrived, we were led to the table and were given hot towel and tea. We decided to choose a set of normal Hida... More

This restaurant had been recommended to us as a must eat place in Takayama and did not disappoint. Whilst we had to wait for about half an hour for a table, table service was quick and efficient. We had great fun cooking our meal on the grill at the center of the table. The 2nd grade Hida beef we had... More

Great tasting (grade 5) hida beef! Had so much till we were starting to feel a bit sick. Our drinking water was not refilled, but apart from that, great customer service.

If you a Beef Lover, U should try Hida Beef. Very nice Marble n tender. Doesn't need The A5 Hida Beef, the Standar already give you different experience eating beef. We order a plate mix of A5 grade Hida Beef and 2 plate standard Hida Beef. Both of them is very good, off course the A5 grade is like melted... More

We had lunch in this popular restaurant. They serve Hida Beef. Set lunch 1980yen to 2980yen. I had the 2980yen A5 grade hida beef cubes set. The beef melts in the mouth even when it was well done. This is one of the few restaurant which opens for dinner when I was there in December.

Read about this place and also recommended by a friend. Therefore we decided to try our first Hida beef here. It's truly delicious. It's melts in your mouth. It's not too oily as compared to Wagyu beef... The price is very reasonable too. The only thing we didn't like this restaurant it's the service. Nobody smile. Everyone was cold... Very... More

We had lunch and when we arrived at 11:30am there were alrd a short line forming at the waiting area. We had a value for money set lunches consist of a few pieces of vegetable and a platter of meat to be grilled. Perhaps because we are first-timers to enjoy beef or we didn't know how dry should we grill... More
