We ordered both grade 5 and grade 4 to try. Unfortunately the grade 4 steak a bit overcook. Not worth the price.

Amazing and flavorful! My son who is a meat eater was totally floored by the steak - we had the A4 grade steak for 2. Highly recommended for meat lovers!

I ordered an A5 sirloin steak set which came with salad, bread and coffee. Paid slightly more than 8000 yen. Worth every penny. Literally melts in mouth and very good service. Staff understood English + good ambience and music

When you're in Takayama, you have to eat the Hida beef! It just melts in your mouth... it will be the best steak you've ever had. Very good steak, but not sure if its worth the price. I had the A-5 sirloin cooked rare with the "set" consisting of salad, bread with butter, and a drink(coffee, tea, iced tea, etc.). 4 of us went and it was about $85 per head, including wine. We had two orders of the 14 oz (400 gram) sirloin for two. I think it is the 1st time in Japan that we payed so much in a restaurant (around 150$), but the experience was worth the price. The meat is prepared by the cook in front o you and the taste is incredible. Make sure to book a table, otherwise even during lunch time you will have to wait.

We were told Hida beef is some of the best. We were told correctly. We had A3 filet mignon and all very happy. The service and atmosphere were excellent to match the food. Best meal in Japan for me.

I had Grade 5 Sirloin which is extremely delicious. My husband fillet which is not that special, lean but not too soft.
