simply delicious

Maybe it was the cold weather, the long train ride we just had.. but the charcoal grilled unagi is simply the best eel meat I've had. The meat is so fragrant and sweet, and the sauce complements it so well. Bones are also so soft and edible as compared to the cheap vietnamese/chinese ones they... read more

We fell in line at 1045am, only to be told that it would take us 2.5 hours to get our bowl of unagi. We came back 3:45pm and waited for 45 minutes! 3,600 yen for a bowl of unagi eel. Was it worth it? It was good, yes. But perhaps not worth the 2.5 hour wait. Price a bit steep,... More

My friends n me were at Nagoya for a weekend trip. I decided to try unagi for Nagoya it's famous for. Not knowing Atsuta status as one of the most famous restaurant we stumble upon it during our shopping. I always hated unagi but Atsuta made me love it again. Didn't know it would taste that good.

When we got off the lift, there were 2 local families making a quick dash for the restaurant. That's how we knew where it was, trailing in their dust. We were fortunate thought to wait less than 10min for our table. I must add that it was full house but there were no long queues on a Tuesday early Dec... More

Love it! We were in transit to Osaka and stopped for lunch at Nagoya. From Nagoya station, take the subway (yellow line) to Sakae (2 stops) then switch to purple line to yaba cho (1 stop). Take exit 5 towards South Annex of the mall. The restaurant is at 10F. Prepare to queue. We were there at around 3pm and... More

This restaurant is easy to find. There is no break so everyone is coming here. I was trying to advoid long queue so I went back around 13.45. Still I had to wait 1 hour before I can get in. You can let your partner go shopping while waiting; however the restaurant will allow only everyone in your booking amount... More

Atsuta is for Unagi lovers, if you are not stay away. The price of one bowl of unagi set will leave your pockets dry. Located inside Matsuzakaya, there is a long queue waiting to be served when we were there at around 20:00. Service portion was huge so the satisfaction feeling of a bowl of unagi seemed surreal for most... More

I went on a Sunday around 4pm and there was already a long queue. Had to wait for about an hour before we got in. The restaurant is in a shopping centre and there are seats provided in the queue so it wasn't too bad. Ordered the hitsumabushi which was pricey but definitely worth it. The portions of eel were... Was lucky went to the restaurant around 5.30pm. No Queue outside But quite crowded inside. Was seated in the tatami rooms, nice authentic feel. Order 02 sets of the signature Histamabushi set. Received a placard explaining the 04 ways of eating the unagi. Luv the slightly charred taste of the unagi. There was some mention by other reviewers about not liking... More

Anticipated a long queue , we went at around 4pm and queued for less than 1 hour. The restaurant has seats all the way of the queue, so one need to keep moving and take over the earlier empty seats at the queue. Its inside matsuzakaya shopping mall 6th floor. ( the Chinese name is fung lai heen) We ordered... More
