We love eel!

After a morning of sightseeing, our Japanese acquaintances thought we might enjoy this restaurant because it is one of their favorites, and they were absolutely right. I have never eaten eel and was not sure what to expect, but it was absolutely delicious. My teen son thoroughly enjoyed his meal as... read more

We always visit this restaurant when we are in Nagoya. It's very very good, the quality is so consistently high, the taste is exquisite, and its always packed with locals and out of town'ers. Recommended

It seems a japanese angel descended upon earth and decided to reside in the kitchen of this restaurant. Partaking in the simple pleasures that us humans enjoy so as to introduce what heavenly cuisine may await those worthy of it.

Meal comes with a set of instructions on how to eat it. Extremely interesting. Eel is done very well, delicious. Portion is large, very filling. Worth giving it a try

Traditionally, the eel was steam before cooking, this restaurant grilles the eel at raw and that's why the favor is totally different. In addition, based on the Japanese way of eating, you can start with eating the Unagi with rice when it is still crispy, then, mix with the seaweed, spring onions and wasabi and finally mix with the soup.... You must try Hitsumabushi. It's nagoya style grilled eel. The barbecue aroma goes very well with the eel and the seasonings. Love it. It's worth a try. I was waiting for the table for mare than half an hour.

Everytime I visited Nagoya, I would pay them a visit. Because unagi never tasted the same again after I ate their hitsumabushi. Unagi meal is never cheap in Japan. But when in Nagoya, I just have to eat Nagoya local food. There are 3 ways to eat their infamous Hitsumabushi meal. Eat on its own, or add some seaweed, green... More
