Katsudon Nagoya way...

Misokatsu or breaded pork chops coming with miso sauce is distinctly Nagoya. This is the shop to get the original. Though I like fillet since they're more tender. Wide choices are offered, meat and seafood alike. can come with unlimited rice... Truly a Nagoya Classic

Yabaton is synonymous with red miso tonkatsu, and as a Nagoya specialty, we make this a must-stop. We went to the branch in the Meitetsu department store (9th floor) next to Nagoya station. Although there was a line, it moved quickly. We waited for less than 15 minutes, so don't be discouraged because the turnover is fast. While we waited,... More

I went there with my family during busy lunch time. They provide menu in multiple languages which is really good. The queue was not so long approx. 15 minutes of waiting. We were asked to order while waiting in the queue, so do the others. The food are ready just a short moment after we got the table. The taste... More

I had the sandwich with the fried pork chunks inside. The sauce is ok and the meat is crunchy. But the sandwich was cold and a bit soggy. Nothing special.

Very basic restaurant with really great Miso Katsu, a traditional food in the area. It's like a fast food shop, where you ordered before they put you on a table, the food came right away after you sit down and you eat and go. Very effective and only in Japan!

The katsu and sauce are a bit greasy. But delicious.

Red miso is one of the things that Nagoya is known for, and there arent many Nagoya natives that dont know about Yabaton. I visited this place when there wasnt a line outside, which is very rare. Simple dishes, but seriously good stuff. If you are in Nagoya city, go check this place out.

Heard so much about the Red Miso Tonkatsu and Yabaton restaurant. No regret lining up and eating here. It was worth it. Ordered the Black pig Tonkatsu with red miso sauce. It was melt in your mouth good.

We traveled as a family to Nagoya and I did some research for a nice popular Nagoya dish. I found Yabaton. My parents were craving for pork and they were not disappointed. Great and fast service. Anyhow I live in Sydney and I'm spoilt for choices. I found the Kurobuta pork here is not as good as the one I... More

the food is good but nothing special about it. The place is popular but it is more of a fast food place (like the way that mc donalds is popular as well). I can't recommend this place if you are looking for a nice place to eat. I do not understand why some people have given this place 5 stars.
