Very basic restaurant with really great Miso Katsu, a traditional food in the area. It's like a fast food shop, where you ordered before they put you on a table, the food came right away after you sit down and you eat and go. Very effective and only in Japan!

The katsu and sauce are a bit greasy. But delicious.

Red miso is one of the things that Nagoya is known for, and there arent many Nagoya natives that dont know about Yabaton. I visited this place when there wasnt a line outside, which is very rare. Simple dishes, but seriously good stuff. If you are in Nagoya city, go check this place out.

Heard so much about the Red Miso Tonkatsu and Yabaton restaurant. No regret lining up and eating here. It was worth it. Ordered the Black pig Tonkatsu with red miso sauce. It was melt in your mouth good.

We traveled as a family to Nagoya and I did some research for a nice popular Nagoya dish. I found Yabaton. My parents were craving for pork and they were not disappointed. Great and fast service. Anyhow I live in Sydney and I'm spoilt for choices. I found the Kurobuta pork here is not as good as the one I... More

the food is good but nothing special about it. The place is popular but it is more of a fast food place (like the way that mc donalds is popular as well). I can't recommend this place if you are looking for a nice place to eat. I do not understand why some people have given this place 5 stars.

Love it, like it, and want to be there again. It's simply the best. I got there at 4pm. so it's not crowded yet. But after the meal was served, lot of people kept coming in and the restaurant was fully packed real quick. So, to make sure you have seat or don't have to wait long line, be there... More

I found a Yabaton right next to Nagoya station in the meitetsuii det store on the 9th floor. Great flavours although the"salad" was shredded lettuce but the pork was so tender and the sauces just the right balance. Highly recommended.

This was good katsu don but the sauce definitely takes some getting used to. I think the Nagoya style sauce is to use thick red/brown miso that is sweetened. The Katsu itself was great but the sauce wasn't quite to my taste. Still, it's one of the dishes I was told to try in Nagoya apart from kishimen noodles so... More

It's simple, but delicious....but ignore the calories!! You can't go wrong with a katsu, but the famous Nagoya miso katsu is delicious!! I had it two ways - Nagoya style and traditional style - both great. Service here is super cheerful - and you have to love the pig carved chairs and other pig decor - super cute (Japan-style desu...
