Recommended by a Dutch traveller who went there several times. After a few days without a beer, this was a huge bonus. The food was fine, nothing exceptional, and a bit expensive. It was very busy with tourists and I don't think I saw a local. Easy as it's just over the road from the Hilton. Clean and a safe... More

We enjoyed our meal, but I can "second" the previous reviewers point that it felt a little "touristy" and was a little expensive (relative to other restaurants in the area.) Still, we enjoyed our food, and loved the Arabic salad, Kibbah, fresh figs, hummus, mixed grill, etc. The staff were friendly and the service was good.

Maybe it was a very good restaurant before, but you can see now how commercial (touristic) it became. The food was far away from being tasty. The meat was very chewy, the vegetables bitter and old. I would recommend to go the local restaurants which are just on the corner - I have never eaten such a moist, well spiced... More

We sat outdoors both times that we ate here in October of 2013. Who would want to sit inside when the city eventually pass you by; kind of like a Paris café. The menu is extensive and the food good. Try local dishes, especially the fish. This may be a tad bit expensive for Aqaba, but it is worth the... More

Easy location to hotels. Easy to find. Outside seating plentiful but the smell from the local tourist camel is awful; although, it's fun to see a camel while eating at Ali Babbas! Incense or candles up in the trees alongside the fly traps would help but none was apparent. Menu was plentiful and service just fine. Food just fine. Although... More

Used to be very good. Was one of my favourites. Used to be excellent with attentive staff. Don't know what happened. The staff we were familiar with have gone, food quality down, prices up up up.

It's the typical touristic restaurant. You even get the camel at the door ready to take you for a ride. Which personally I find a bit annoying. Food is ok and the waiters work for their tip. Otherwise, nothing remarkable to say about it

This place is obviously good for tourists. There are two areas, one where they serve alcohol (2nd floor) and downstairs they do not. We were with a group of around 10 people and the waiter offered to serve starters to share. We all had a different main course. 4 of us had Fish Sayadeya (or something) and the waiter told... More

As tourists visiting during the off-season and during Ramadan, it was a blessing to find Ali Baba open for lunch. The food was good, typical Middle Eastern dishes, and the staff was attentive without being overbearing. It was also well-priced for a restaurant in a tourist city!
