Excellently prepared dishes but hardly innovative!

Our party of 14 was seated promptly and provided a quite extensive wine list - most of Italian or California origin. Four of us ordered the red snapper special, but were advised after some delay that they were sold out - with a sea bass substitute suggested. It was perfectly cooked and very tasty... read more

If not the best Italian restaurant in Western New York, it's in the top three. Make no mistake, this is not a spaghetti and meatballs type place. The cuisine is a bit more upscale. As with any authentic Italian cuisine, they use the finest ingredients, prepare them simply and with a deft hand. They have been in business, and I have... More

Intimate and comfortable atmosphere..good service (although a bit slow, but not a problem as we were enjoying ourselves)...and, the food was outstanding. The antipasto was enough to share, salads good (but pricey at $9) and my GAMBERI E RAVIOLI ALLA PANNA (spinach/cheese filled ravioli, tiger shrimp with cognac and a creamy sun dried tomato sauce) is my new favorite dish!... San Marco is my favorite restaurant in WNY. However my last visit was disappointing. The owner seemed very distracted on our visit there. We waited ten minutes to be seated in a half empty restaurant. We waited a half hour to get bread on our table. There was an hour interval between salad and the main course.

One of the finest restaurants in the area. Food is magnificent and service likewise. We had a group of 14 who were treated superbly! Sea Bass and scallops are both to die for.

Dropped in late on a week day and we were greeted by a friendly gentleman who seated us immediately. We had to take a little time to peruse the menu, there were so many good choices! We ultimately selected the veal chop and spaghettini pomodoro, preceded by the arugula salad. Mr. Grimaldi recommended the Banfi Chianti Classico to accompany the... More

The restaurant ambience is lovely; the greeting wonderful. Service excellent. The veal dish also very good as was the salad, but for a 'gourmet' Italian restaurant, we were disappointed that the pasta was not homemade and the pasta dish prices were definitely similar to the more involved dishes. Sadly, my husband had the pasta and I had a veal dish.... More

The restaurant is elegant and intimate. The owner personally welcomes you and seats you and the food is some of the best I have had in the world. The wine selection is amazing. Service = outstanding. Never have had a bad meal. We LOVE this place

This is one of the classic spots my wife and I visit when we want an intimate, meticulously prepared, yet un-fussy dining experience. Frank oversees a wonderful experience - traditional but high-end Italian cuisine (with added flair and updates where appropriate), a robust wine list, and servers that are attentive but never, ever impatient or pushy. My personal favorite dish... More

We had our Valentine's dinner there on Friday night. The food and service was beyond what we could have expected. The tomatoes in the Caprese salad were delicious and fresh for a cold February in Buffalo, NY. The veal, the shrimp, the dessert--delicious. Music was a bit too loud but we had a wonderful experience at San Marco!
