The Bale well was recommended, we hadn't booked and although it was fairly early the place was full inside and out. This place has no frills you all sit together and they only. have one choice, Its really a cafe with a BBQ. As soon as you sit down food and drink start to arrive, there is a huge amount... More

Awesome cuisine theatre, and it tastes bloody amazing! Great to get off the main road restaurants and be eating down some small alley. Don't miss!

Personally, this was my favourite place we dined in Hoi An and possibly in all of Vietnam... If you want fine dining or are a fussy eater skip this place. If you are looking for a truly Vietnamese FEAST and yummy tasty food then this is the spot to go. Its located down a little alley way off Tran Hung... More

This restaurant has mainly good reviews and I have no idea why.Situated in a laneway with motorcycles belching fumes as you eat.We no sooner sat down and the food was thrown on the table. We were feeling rushed and incompetent as we had most of our food wrapped for us and pushed down our throats...literally.The food was tasty but nothing special... We finally found this place after spending 30 minutes wandering through back alleys and whatnot and weren't disappointed in the experience. It was mid-afternoon when we arrived and the place was nearly empty, so we got the full treatment. The owner came over and plopped down at the table next to us and started pumping questions at us rapid-fire. How... More

We'd read the reviews and had a recommendation from some people we'd met in Hanoi and we weren't disappointed. It is pretty touristy (lots of big tour groups there) but they managed to squeeze us 2 in outside. It's very full-on as they literally show you how to roll up the lovely spring rolls etc and the food comes out... More

We LOVED Bale Well - we hunted it down after reading about it in our guidebook, and the real thing more than lived up to the hype. Classic streetfood, no menu - you sit down and they bring you the food, and it just keeps coming. It was essentially a make-your-own spring roll buffet with all sorts of delicious additions... More

You make your own spring rolls. Very delicious. All you can eat for around 5-6$. Spring rolls with satay, shrimps and a desert.

One of the best places to eat in Vietnam and definitely the best in Hoi An. Great food, great service with lovely staff and awesome owner.

We were recommended this place by some locals. It was lucky we were told where to go because this place was off a Main Street. Don't be tricked by the other restaurant on the street who also takes the name of Bale well (but with something in front of it) . We were escorted by the owner down the side... More
