Our tour guide recommended us Bale Well and told us, that we will find original vietnamese food there and it was really great. We went there around 6 pm and got the last free table, which was a good sign. They only serve one meal - rice paper stuffed with barbequed pork, herbs, spring rolls, pancakes and kimchi, served with... More

I wish more eateries would be easy like this one. Knowing that you will not get ripped off when it is time to pay, you just sit down and wait for delicious food to appear in front of you and one of the lovely ladies will show you how to make your rice paper rolls and I witnessed that at... More

We loved eating here. The food was enjoyable and the atmosphere was great, very busy and even with a power outage the place kept going. And it seems the food doesnt stop coming, couldn't even eat the fruit at the end I was so full - very satisfying. A wonderful night out and I highly recommend eating here. We will... More

Seriously though, believe the hype about this place - it is UNREAL! Amazing atmosphere and experience, only AUD$5.00 for an all you can eat feast! It's not the easiest place to find (I wrote up a bit more info on my blog - http://ordinarygirlextraordinarydreamer.com/2014/07/13/eat-here-bale-well-hoi-an-vietnam/) but well worth the effort. No menu, no ordering, they just bring the food out to... More

Ok, it's a bit of a trick to find, but when you're lost, ask some people around and they will put you ij the right direction. Get there, sit down and receive you glorious diner. They show you how to roll properly and off you go! Good for anytime of the day. Enjoy!

Trying to find my way out of a wrong detour I walked past this place while a western couple was leaving. "Awesome food dude" they said so I sat down. Not knowing their routine I was a little pissed when the food started coming without me looking at a menu. "We only have a set menu" she said as the... More

Went with my tour group, our tour manager happened to come across this place on his travels. What a gem!!! Place is not fancy, but the food is mind blowing. They make one thing, "Vietnamese spring roll inception" a spring roll within a spring roll. Stuffed my face for two days straight. 1st time was lunch with my tour group,... More

After about a week in Vietnam, we arrived in Hoi An looking forward to more great street food. Hanoi and Sapa had not disappointed and we were hoping for great things. We came to Bale Well by chance an evening after eating amazing banh mi and were not at all hungry, but the staff were so persuasive and friendly, we... More

A local gave us the tip about this place, an although they boast of their high rating in the Lonely Planet, this restaurant remains wonderfully non-touristy. There is only one menu option here - a banquet involving bbq'd beef and pork, Vietnamese pancake, spring rolls and lettuce all wrapped up in rice paper like the word's best spring roll! The... More
