Cannot fault this restaurant- outstanding food, service surroundings. Have been every time we come to Hoi an and have never been disappointed in anything. Have been to Hoi an 5 times. Try the 5 coloured salad if you come here but everything is truly superb.

I've been to Secret Garden several times and I have nothing to complain about. They make good vegetarian food (haven't tried the non-vegetarian) in - probably - the best surroundings in the Old Town. Furthermore, the staff is one of the friendliest in town with great English skills.

You approach this place down a dark narrow alleyway and wonder where you're headed, but it opens up into a lovely open spot, a leafy courtyard, with tables that'll accommodate a big party, with live classical guitar music playing in the back ground. The food selection is good, the local beef dishes - beef and betel leaf, beef with orange,... More

We ate here one night and after a good chat with one of the chefs, we decided to do the evening cooking course. This was great fun; they really get you involved. We had 3 courses to make, a traditional pancake with pork and shrimp, a clay fish pot and a king prawn dish. First, we got to cut all... More

Set in a courtyard, the ambience for a quiet and peaceful lunch was just precious. We had soft shell crab, prawns, and a beef pan fried with orange sauce, and pork lychee The two latter dishes were recently added to the menu. The pork dish was incorrectly taken down by the waitress as our order. But it was served to... More

Some dishes very good, others a bit bland but would still return if staying for a week or so. service was a bit strange again with some very attentive, other could not... More

Set in a pretty garden, open to the balmy evening, a really good set meal. Proper progression from the delicate through the more robust with the beef in banana leaf standing out. And for once a lovely coconut cake dessert rather than just the standard issue banana. Staff a little pushy.

On a hot busy day in Hoi An I found The Secret Garden Restaurant at the end of a winding lane-way you come into a cool garden, to one side a wide open, roofed area of tables. The menu has a great deal to offer, the tastes were delicate and delicious. A passion fruit shot is followed by a wide... More
