Locals place, great food, good prices. Away from the historic district, which makes for better food . Good atmosphere, easy walk from our Posada, the Colonia Suite

We absolutely loved this place! The meat was cooked perfectly--it was wonderful. The prices were lower than usual for this type of food. I wanted a salad instead of a potato side and they were happy to substitute. We definitely plan to go back.

Went here during a one day visit to Colonia, and enjoyed the food. My steak was a special cut of flank, delicious but I should have ordered it rare rather than medium rare (it ended up being medium). The Milanese Napolitana was apparently delicious too. Besides that, the beer was cheap too (about 4 euro for a liter of Stella)!... More

I came here because of the good reviews of the parilla. The restaurant was 80% full being 1.30 pm on a Friday, and there was a short Q, so I joined in. After a while, there was only a woman in front of me. When the waiter came near, she pointed to an empty table and he nodded okay. I... More

A slight wait for a table. Seemed popular with the locals. The prices seemed fair and there was a great wine list. Service was friendly and warm. Beef was prepared to Jugoso (medium rare) and they got it right. Tasty sides as well.

For "Parrilladas' Lovers", it's a great place, great beef. Ask for a well cook "molleja" for starter and a "bife de lomo" for main. The "flan de dulce de leche" was awesome too.

I have to agree with majority of tripadvisor user, this place is very good. Meat dishes were well prepaired and prices a very competative compaired some of the retaurants in old town. Seating/deco/lights inside are a bit rough.Very good value for your pesos!

We wanted to try a chivito, a sandwich Colonia is known for. It's basically steak, mozzarella cheese, a fried egg, tomato, and lettuce. This particular one was not served on bread. It was good, but I wouldn't say it was amazing.

We ate at El Porton for lunch today (26 March 2013) and my boyfriend is now vomiting. He had the pork pamplona, which was a sausage of pork meat filled with bacon and peppers. I tried it and thought it was revolting, so I spat it out into a napkin. I ordered a steak which was okay - at least... More
