El Portón (The Gate) was recommended by our hotel and it was an outstanding choice. My wife and I liked it so well the first day, we returned on the second day of our visit to Colonia del Sacramento. Note, however, that portions are BIG. On our second visit, we shared the tenderloin (lomo) and it was plenty for both... More

Very good food and service! Also, the prices are very fair. All the meat we ate were well prepared. Try the Torta Preto for dessert!

Easy to get there, prompt service, friendly, very tasty meat, good parrilla, the price is good for what you get. Crowded but we were lucky to get a table, full of locals. which usually tells me that we cannot go wrong, and we didn't....

Very good food, friendly and competent staff, good prices, good location and the most interesting: we wanted to pay cash, but the attendant said we could have a discount if we payed with VISA credit card!! Incredible, isn't it?! I strongly recommend it!

We went Saturday night and the place was heaving. Nevertheless, service was brisk and friendly. Not the best quality food, but very acceptable, and clearly a favourite with the locals, presumably because of the very reasonable prices. Great fun!

Locals place, great food, good prices. Away from the historic district, which makes for better food . Good atmosphere, easy walk from our Posada, the Colonia Suite

We absolutely loved this place! The meat was cooked perfectly--it was wonderful. The prices were lower than usual for this type of food. I wanted a salad instead of a potato side and they were happy to substitute. We definitely plan to go back.

Went here during a one day visit to Colonia, and enjoyed the food. My steak was a special cut of flank, delicious but I should have ordered it rare rather than medium rare (it ended up being medium). The Milanese Napolitana was apparently delicious too. Besides that, the beer was cheap too (about 4 euro for a liter of Stella)!... More

I came here because of the good reviews of the parilla. The restaurant was 80% full being 1.30 pm on a Friday, and there was a short Q, so I joined in. After a while, there was only a woman in front of me. When the waiter came near, she pointed to an empty table and he nodded okay. I... More
