Having been generally disappointed with the food in Buenos Aires, this is the best we have had so far. I had the seafood rice which contained a generous amount of seafood and had a lovely flavour cost $295 peso, which was a little steep but a bottle of the house red was only $150 peso. My friend had gnocchi bolognase... More

After visiting some restaurants un Punta del Este and Montevideo I did expect something simpler, meaning, lower quality food in Colonia (don't ask me why). However, I got surprised about the quality of this place. And far more surprised it is #20 or so on city's quality ranking. (English speaking) staff has been kind and polite, price is good and... Went in the off-season (mid-May) when it was not busy. The interior is attractive. We had risotto with seafood. A good-size bowl of well-flavored rice with about 50 little bay scallops, 5 or 6 nice shrimp, mussels, and clams. It was excellent and filling. We also had chard fritters with mashed pumpkin. The fritters were tasty and fried just right.... More

Half of our group was gluten intolerant, so we sometimes struggled to find restaurants with options that suited everybody. Pulperia de los Faroles had a pretty lengthy menu - including meat, seafood, and pasta dishes - enabling each of us to find something they wanted to eat. The food we got (a seafood paella, spinach ravioli, pork ravioli) were all... More

it is recommendet as a seafood restaurant. however, when i asked if the fish is fresh from the cost the staff sharply neglected and said the fish is mainly from vietnam. I ordered the recommendation, 'lomo stroganoff'. the food was no prepared fresh, only warmed up and you could see the rotten dots on the creamy sauce. The normal menu... More

The food here was pretty average but the staff made up for it as they were attentive and accommodating... The roast chicken was bland and the kids who are pasta monsters... Seem indifferent about their dinner.

We eventually ate here despite some of the reviews, as we'd tried many of the other restaurants in Colonia del Sacramento during the 6 days we spent in this town. I wouldn't describe any of them as excellent, and we tried 12 (Lunch and dinner)! It's in a lovely position, and the food we had was equal to any that... More

We ordered the calamari to start, and the breading was at least a half inch all around. Once the breading was picked off, the squid itself was rubbery and tasteless. I got the spinach ravioli, which were horrible and covered in a "sauce" that can only be described as nasty ketchup. I couldn't eat more than a couple of bites.... More

It rained the whole day we were in Colonia which rather dampened our spirits and this restaurant did nothing to raise them. Very few people in, so there was no atmosphere. Service and food were average and after our first few days in Argentina, we thought it was expensive. Perhaps it would be better on a sunny day.

This restaurant has a nice location and it obviously caters to the tourist trade. I cannot imagine that someone would come a second time. Unlike others reporting here we had good service. The food, however, was way over cooked, the shrimp and calamari was rubbery and soaked in oil. Prices are high - stay away.
