Authentic Mevlani style food

We had no idea what to choose as everything sounded great so the waiter chose for us. We started with a traditional soup and then he gave us two taster courses to follow where we had a small portion of most things on the menu. The oven baked meat was a bit dry but otherwise every dish was nice... read more

Arrived at around 9p on a Saturday night and had the place to ourselves. The menu consist of various types of Ottoman/Selcuk dishes prepared in the traditional way - no spices, peppers, etc. The meats were well prepared. The décor is Mevlana dominant and very nice. We enjoyed the experience.

My wife and I went to this restaurant and have not been disappointed at all. Just a warning to everyone, this is not the sort of food you normally get around Turkey. Yes, some dishes are similar, however it still manages to taste differently because it is a Mevlevi kitchen. So if you have been around Turkey and had good... More

Recommended by the hotel, rated well in this website but none of it makes sense. I feel the owners have gamed TripAdvisor to increase ranking. Flavourless, poorly presented uninspired food. Easily the worst meal I've had in my week in Turkey.

This restaurant came highly recommended from numerous sources though some negative reviews by Turkish reviewers were a forewarning. The restaurant's approach seemed intriguing with quotes to go with some of the dishes and no oil used. We ordered soup which I thought bland, artichoke which was hard and undercooked topped by spinach that reminded me of the frozen kind found... More

Highly recommended to us by the staff at the nearby brilliant Hich Hotel as an authentic and different style of old Turkish/Seljuq cuisine. This was by far the highlight meal of a 16-day trip through Turkey. A beautiful insight into cuisine before the colonisation of the New World, fascinating combinations of ingredients perfectly cooked and served by lovely staff. Every... More

So my great experience with this restaurant does not come from the food exactly thought the food was pretty creative and high quality. İ bought a wrong ticket and was very worried if İ could leave to Cappadocia that night. The waiter and the boss called for me even brought me to the bus office to change ticket for me... More

I recommend this Selçuk Rumi (Mevlana) "Fihi ma Fih" restaurant to everyone. All food items are unique in ingredient, presentation, taste and atmosphere. The staff (the 2-3 ladies in the kitchen, the waiters and the owner) are too friendly and helpful to be true. Try the mix-of-everything (appetizers, mini soups and main courses) so that you get all-in-one. Called "karışık"... More

The garson explained about the restaurant and its different old style food very well. They served our foods in the pot. They were very hospitable.
