Last weekend of April. A sunny Sunday afternoon, reserved for meeting with family. We wanted to enjoy some tasty food near by the sea side. This place has a wonderful view. But the quality of the food inversely proportional. One word to describe: Garbage! The service was even worse. Waiters seemed like they lost their face muscles, no smile at... More

I went there with family for dinner on my birthday. The place is elegant, very warm, staff is nice, food is delicious, there was live music on saturday evening and they were really very good. Scenery is very nice as well. It is an ideal place for special occasions and romantic candle-lit dinners.

Even though the atmosphere is one of the nicest in Izmir, unfortunately I can not say that for their foods. They are at just average taste and overpriced for such quality.

Other reviewers are right that this restaurant has a very nice ambiance and setting, and that the continental fare can be a welcome break from Turkish food. The problem, however, is that the western food you get is second-rate. The crepes were baked in clay dishes and smothered in bechamel, so they came out looking and tasting more like mushy... More

Found good reviews and decided to check this place out for a break from Turkish food. Delish! First of all, it was packed with locals so you know the food will be good. Tucked behind the French Cultural Centering their private garden the restaurant transports you away from the hustle and bustle of the city. Large menu with lots of... More

Based on reviews, and being near to our hotel, we went to this restaurant. It is in a lovely setting, being in a back street with a garden - the main restaurant feels like an extension of the garden. We both had pasta dishes, which were very good and a great tiramasu for dessert. Whilst we like to eat traditional... More

Just visited la cigale for lunch, It's a very pretty resturand with very good food. We had the grilled sea bass which was cooked to perfection. However the serve the entire fish where as I prefer fillets....something I shod have checked before ordering,,,however it was very nice... The steak with mushroom saucy was also vey good. A good place to stay far away from sea side confusion. Nice location, quiet, and good quality price ratio. France style, good service at the table, mainly fish specialities.

We found this restaurant thru trip advisor and had given up walking in circles to find it (on alley) next to french cultural center) when we tripped upon it and had a really wonderful meal. Grat food and lovely venue- central once you know where it is but off beaten tourist track.

In fact it is brilliant!!! All, service, food and environment are brilliant. One of the most valuable restaurants that I can recommend in Izmir and in a walking distance...
