We ate at Deniz during our stay at Izmir. The restaurant had been recommended by our hotel. The meal at Deniz was truly unforgettable. The chef met us and we and requested him to cook something spicy for our Indian palate :) Our meal started off with shrimps in hot garlic oil and chilli, following which the chef cooked for... More

Located just next the bay promenade and by several other restaurants and bars, this restaurant looks very lively during dinner time with lots of people eating outside. Food is based on fresh fish and some sea food but the choice is more focused on the former. Products are fresh and there is a choice between sea fish and farm fish.... More

Mainly a seafood restaurant, which I do not eat. But they brought me a fine steak, and the staff were very helpful.

Small portions, expensive prices, but very nice food. Atmosphere's nothing special. We were a little turned off by the fact that we had to pay 15TL for "kuver" - apparently the cost covering the tablecloths etc. After hearing that we were tempted to take the damn tablecloths with us.

Deniz Restaurant is traditionally the most expensive fish restaurant on Izmir's 'Kordon' seafront. The place to take your important guests or to impress your high-maintenance girlfriend. Vastly over-rated in terms of quality with regard to price. Standard range of fish dishes, well cooked but plainly presented. Much better value to be had in other Kordon restaurants or, even better, in... More

Notwithstanding my limited experience of Izmir restaurants, Turkish friends assured that Deniz is the best fish restaurant in Izmir, at least the most famous. Well, eating there was definitely pleasant and enjoyable. You have a large choice of any kind of fish, definitely fresh (you can choose from the display which one you want to be cooked), impeccable service (English... More
