We happily join the chorus of Sakiz fans. The restaurant featured a unique array of unusual Aegean seafood dishes. Of particular note, were the seabass house specialties. The variety of meze was unusual as well, including sardines and other fish dishes. The owner host was welcoming, warm, and very helpful. Frankly, the restaurant was an extraordinarily good value as well.

Sakiz Restaurant offers a wide selection of Mediterranean and particularly Aegean food. It is heavy on fish and Aegean herbs and greens. They have interesting fish dishes which you can not eat anywhere else. For example "Sea bass in garlic mustard sauce with blessed thistle" is an invention of the chef and an absolute delight. If you want you can... More

Lonely Planet said not to miss this lovely little place near the water in Izmir. They were right, so right in fact that we at there twice. I am an aubergine (eggplant) fan. Sakiz's eggplant preparations were not to be missed, especially the aubergine puree that formed the base for our sea bass entrees the first night. While this restaurant... More

The welcome and customer service is great and they made our stay very pleasant. The atmosphere of the restaurant was lovely; there is live music 3 nights a week and we really benefitted from the lovely atmosphere this created. The menu is mainly fish dishes and everything is fresh and well made. The blend of flavours is delicious and left... More

Based on all the good reviews, we thought to give this place a try. As a starter we asked the waiter to bring us a selection of some of the starters. He served the cold starters, only, which was a pitty, but for the rest it was ok, and than just that. As main dish we shared a steak. It... More

We tried seabass (in turkish called 'levrek') and seabream (in turkish called "cupra"). They were delicious. I highly recommend this place.

We decided to splurge on a Saturday evening, so we booked a table inside the venue. (The terrace is full of smokers, legally smoking as it is "outside") We decided to try the fixed price menu (170 TL for two people including a bottle of decent wine). It turned out to be too much food but was worth it. They... More

Read about this restaurant in a travel guide, assumed it might be full of tourists. I think we may have been the only non locals there. The owner greeted us, it was a busy Friday night, and he got us a table. The food was incredible. The mezes were delicious. The yogurt with chilies, shrimp in filo, the cheese, chili,... More

After a month in Turkey and about to leave, I can say that this was the best meal we had during this trio. I can't recommend it enough! We share two starters and two mains. Since you also get nice bread with balsamic vinegar and olives, in hindsight we order too much food. But we did clean up our dishes.... More
