Delightful traditional Turkish set course lunch

We were recommended this place by our tour guide and he phoned the day before to see if a table was available - prebooking is essential as food is hours cooking. It is in a small village, which in itself shows traditional Cappadocia life. We had a three course meal served by the son of the lady... read more

We had lunch here with our kids. Food is really good. It is a small establishment in Ayvalı village. Only few tables. Full course - starters (dried tomatoes, pickles, soup) and main - very tasty. Dessert at the end is a nice surprise. Tables are in the courtyard of this BB. I guess we paid around 18-20 Euro pp including... More

We were brought here for lunch by the guide with whom we were hiking...we never would have stumbled across it otherwise. The food and setting are just fabulous. A wonderful experience. The best food in Cappadocia.

Reaching this restaurant based on the recommendation of our guide, we were left completely surprised. The owners had been told that we were vegetarian. Also, that I was keen to learn a local delicacy with the chef. Wow, sitting down to lunch and seeing the town folks go about their routine, eating the sun dried tomatoes from their backyard garden,... More

This is a small gem which must not be missed. It is a family affair, Mother is chef and her food is traditional, but the taste and quality sets it apart from other restaurants. Her son is a solicitous and charming front of house who speaks excellent English. The setting is also lovely with views out over the countryside and... More

Having eaten some very good food during the past week in Turkey, lunch time today at Aravan evi certainly surpassed them all. The food was delicious - home cooked in the tandoor by the owner's wife. The service both friendly and efficient and the general atmosphere excellent. I would recommend that anyone journeying near here make a detour to try... More

What a surprise to find this restaurant in the same village as where we were staying. Wonderful food was served in a set menu. There is nothing better than true organic food harvested the same day and so authetically prepared. The service was friendly and welcoming. We went back the next night as well. Well worth a visit and we... More

A family-run restaurant as part of a small hotel. Book in advance (day before or in the morning for dinner) and they'll look after you. Traditional Turkish food made as only grandma knows how (and she really knows how). Ingredients were sourced largely from their own organic garden. A little out of the way in Ayvali village, stay locally, or... More

We stayed 4 days in Aravan Evi and opted for breakfast and dinner in their restaurant. We made the best decision as the food cooked by the owner's wife were simple yet delicious. We learnt that the produce were from their very own organic garden which we also visited in one of the days there....tomatoes, capsicums, aubergines, grapes, apples, cucumber... More
