Best tradition food in Cappadocia

It is worth the drive to this tiny village just to enjoy the tradition food prepared with love and skills past down thru the generations. Aravan Evi restaurant ambience is quite, peace and relaxation. We just went with the owner's recommendation of mezze, mains and desserts and enjoyed every bite... read more

Loved it, that's the easiest way to describe this restaurant. Sure its not the easiest to find being just off the main street up a narrow road but it is well wort the short drive out of Urgup. The food is cooked in a closed oven using traditional methods and ingredients that are locally sourced and most probably organic. The... More

My husband and I chose to have our last meal in Cappedocia here and were not disappointed. We drove from Urgup through the country lanes and arrived in the small town of Ayvali in 20 minutes. We entered a beautiful courtyard covered in grape vines and were seated at a table overlooking the village below. There is no menu, you... More

This little jewel tucked in a small village is a great escape when visiting the region. It is small but very quaint, the terrace with great views. The menu is what mom (literally) cooked that day and it is delicious. Typical turkish fare with great taste and very attentive service. The drive there is also worth the trip.

We were taking to the restaurant which was a family home, there was no menus just what mother had cooked that day. All i can say oh my god what a surprise the food was outstanding, the flavors and traditional home cooking everything from land, as well as true turkish food. We never left anything and there was plenty the... More

The kind of place you would not find without Trip Advisor ! A scenic 15 minute drive out of Urgip for us, the enclosed terrace restaurant overlooking a pleasant view of the village and countryside. We ate extremely flavoursome and fresh tasting rustic food accompanied by a local red wine which was a perfect accompaniment for it. Service was friendly... More

Home style authentic Turkish food cooked with fresh ingredients grown in their garden - run by son, Okan and mother duo - is amazing! located in a small village near Urgup - off the beaten track - must say a worthwhile trek! Aravan Evi offers a set menu - at least a 4 hour advance booking is recommended. Choicest home... More

Our group of 12 plus driver and excellent guide went here and could not if we had been in a typically 42 people bus because it seats perhaps 20.Slow paced and food made in a tandoori by the lady reputed to be the mother of English speaking waiter/manager.The location in a little place,a simple but clean village ,the fixed menu... We were recommended this place by our tour guide and he phoned the day before to see if a table was available - prebooking is essential as food is hours cooking. It is in a small village, which in itself shows traditional Cappadocia life. We had a three course meal served by the son of the lady who performed the... More

We had lunch here with our kids. Food is really good. It is a small establishment in Ayvalı village. Only few tables. Full course - starters (dried tomatoes, pickles, soup) and main - very tasty. Dessert at the end is a nice surprise. Tables are in the courtyard of this BB. I guess we paid around 18-20 Euro pp including... More
