A gem!

We were hunting for a good Indian food and was recommended The Bookhouse. So we made our way there and after a couple of missed driving past we finally found it. A nice cozy restaurant. There were tables in the open terrace and a nice private corner if you have pets but we chose to sit in the... read more

This previously excellent restaurant is now a disaster. The family seems to now live in the library section! Baby in a carriage clothes scattered about and on the floor. Nobody was here, but the tables were.so dirty it was hard to find a place to sit. When we asked about the menu we were told there was no beef, no... More

Easy to find cafe with extras. Place has a huge selection on menu but quite a few had not available stickers. I ordered a breakfast which included hash browns, only to be told no hash browns left. This was not a problem and was offered toast instead. Food was nice and homely. I felt the place needed a lick of... More

Had one of the breakfasts there only 139bht but the quality of the meal was very poor, my wife & her friend had Thai food which was fine but not cheap. Nice young waitress but a long wait for the meals, the menu is huge but many items on it are not available The whole place is getting very run... More

Second time i've visited this Restaurant, first time as i read the reviews and we had a pleasant visit. I think the second time recently we visited at a bad time. it looked like a bomb site, i assume it is going through some kind of renovation. Everything looked old and tatty and not very clean. I ended up just... More

A couple of years ago The Bookhouse has moved to its current location in front of the artificial lake Nong Sin. Since then the collection of available books has diminished considerably. So be prepared for a disappointment if you expect to find a full-swing bookshop. The food is still very good though and the menu is quite extensive. The restaurant... More

Yes it's true. The food is not as good as in the past. Service is not good either, as our breakfasts arrived nearly half an hour apart. Generally looks tatty too. My bacon and syrup pancakes were nice, but my Dads scrambled egg was hard.

We've been into The Bookhouse on quite a few occasions over the years. When Jeremy ran it, the food was really good. A little more expensive than other nearby restaurants, but worth it. Since Jeremy's departure we've noticed the standards have slipped - cheaper ingredients and not so fresh. Went in with a friend who works in catering. The croutons... More

We had a fantastic 'British' meal, the service was excellent and fast. A good selection of wines was available and we enjoyed our bottle of red wine..
