Not worth it

We came on a Saturday at noon and it was deserted. The view over the lagoon was nice and the food isn't bad but overall it wasn't worth the high prices. You can definitely find the same quality of authentic Thai food in local restaurants that are further away from the entrance to the Laguna hotels.

We came to this restaurant as it was recommended by the staff at the Villa we stayed near Thalang District. The restaurant sent a van to pick us up. When we arrived the restaurant on the Monday evening (14 Jan 2016), it was quite empty with only a few tables and I can see there were no local guests. Nearly... More

We visited Chaba at the recommendation of our hotel. It's a huge restaurant overlooking a field of lily pads. The view is great. Unfortunately the restaurant was deserted. Good was good through - fresh black crab with chilli was delicious and my wife's pad Thai was fantastic. It's a little more expensive than other restaurants in the area - I... More

If you were to design a tourist trap restaurant from the ground up, this would be it. Situated at the entrance to the Laguna hotels complex, Chaba offers large surroundings for plenty of tables serving average food at high prices with disinterested staff. There are so many other excellent restaurants in the area, I've kicked myself every day since eating... More

We were looking for something quick to eat and this was the perfect place, perfectly located near the Laguna area, the food was really good and relatively cheap so thumbs me

I was visiting Laguna and after I went out of the area, I just saw the restaurant. From outside it looks a nice place to eat. However, when I saw the menus, although they have some good variety but the prices are no less than 5 star hotels. Any simple dish like Rice with Basil leave and chicken, which normally... More

Quite expensive, but hardly fair food. Classic tourist restaurant with huge menu, live fish, higher pricing and quite low quality of cooking. Nothing really bad to say, but never to return again. Only if it's your first time in Thai, you have no idea where to go, no access to internet to check around, you want menu on your language,... More

Had lunch at this place. There is outdoor and indoor seating (air conditioned). The food is quite pricey compared to similar places and the taste and quality were quite mediocre. I had a green curry fried rice with chicken which had the texture of chicken jerky. I think the chicken had been in the freezer for too long. The local... More

Visited this in April they picked us up and took us Back to our villa after our lovely dinner. Thought this was a really nice touch. Menu was varied and reasonable,as were the drinks and cocktails.Staff very friendly and attentive. All in all a great experience.

This restaurant was recommended to us by a local taxi driver, and we are glad he did. The restaurant is very big and overlooks a lagoon full of Lilly pads. The menu is extensive ant prices are more expensive than other restaurants close by. My wife is vegetarian and had stir fried broccoli with boiled rice, no Jasmin rice. I... More
