This is a very nice respite. clean, a stream running under the restaurant, good food. we were there for lunch. nice atmosphere
I've been to Thailand many times as well as other Asian countries so I know a good Asian meal when I see it. Not this place. The service was very, very poor and the food was just as bad. As well It took the employees 15 minutes just to sort out our bill. I would suggest Salween River Restaurant which... More
This restaurant was recommended to me, so I didn't bother checking any reviews before deciding to go there for dinner; my bad luck. The food was very good. I wish I could say the same about the service, but that was not the case. There were loads of English speaking customers, so it couldn't have been that. All I can... More
Food was great, staff seemed a bit annoyed to serve a solo traveller. One staff member seemed downright unpleasant when asked if the liquid she brought in a cognac glass was really the ordered glass of red wine.
Great food in a superb restaurant in Mae Hong Son. Try the signature dishes to get a sample of real local food.
we went to the fern restaurant rather late in the evening. plenty of seats available, a huge restaurant. mixed guests, thais and foreigners. attentive service, very good northern and well known thai food. 5 out of 5 for the food, 3 out of 5 for the ambiance.
We ere looking for a place to have a morning coffee when we arrived in mae hong son but couldn't find anywhere to go. As fern had a coffee menu up outside we went in and asked if they were serving coffee. We eventually received an affirmative yes. We sat down outside on the terrace and were given coffee menus.... This is a huge restaurant. Looks like a mess hall. Parts of it are open air so beware if it's cold outside. Food was ok, service was ok. We waited quite a long time for our dishes. Was not a disaster but probably not a place I'd go back to.
We were staying at the Fern Resort out of town but fancied going down to town rather than eating at the hotel. Mae Hong Son is a quiet place in October but this restaurant always had a few others eating there and a half decent acoustic guitarist playing gave it a nice atmosphere. As usual we were eating Thai dishes,... More
I do not normally give a poor review but feel that fellow travellers should be warned. We stopped in for a coffee and a tuna sandwich at lunch time. There were two other people in he restaurant fitted for a hundred people. After 10 minutes one coffee arrived. Another one came 5 minutes later. After 40 minutes we went in... More
