The only restaurant you need to know in Mae Hong Son

Went there on the recommendation of our guest house host as being the best Burmese food in town. We found the staff to be efficient and helpful, despite having little english and we having almost no Thai language skills. We got there early for dinner. The place was very popular and was full by the time we left. Despite our... More

Mae Hong Son isn't a best food destination. Most of the restaurants have poor menu, low quality and careless service. But this place is an exeption. Try their burmese food, it worth it, especially potato pies (which is not a pie actually, it's a sort of cutlet). Also omelet is really yammy and big, perfect breakfast.

We visited Salween several times during our week in Mae Hong Son. I found their Asian food better than the western, and certainly at much better prices. The Burmese Green Tea Salad was excellent! I had sweet and sour chicken while my wife had eggplant & potato curry. Both were extremely good. Great location near the lake. Well worth a... More

Thai's sure can cook. We've had so many delicious meals in the three weeks that we have been in this beautiful country, but Salween River Restaurant is the BEST MEAL YET! We ate dinner one night and it was so good that we went back for lunch the next day. I ordered the Chicken with mushrooms and my husband had... More

Good food, good location, good atmosphere, good service. Recommended. If you're in Mae Hong Son, and don't think this is a great restaurant, you're in the wrong place :-)

We were only in Mae Hing Son for three days but ended up eating most of our meals here. Everything we had was good. We really liked the Burmese and Shan dishes on the menu, especially the wild mushroom salad. Terrific breakfasts with toast made from their gorgeous homemade bread,
