There are a number of good restaurants along the wharf area. Saeng Thai is a very good option. We tried Chaolay Seafood as it was recommended by one of the local residents of Hua Hin. It was an excellent recommendation. Before climbing the steps into the main restaurant you pass a large selection of fresh fish. Once on the pier, there is an army of staff to seat and serve you. My colleague and I ordered a scallop appetizer, a whole fish main course and a large fried rice side dish. The food was very good and the pricing reasonable, less than $30 for all of the food and 4 beers. Chaolay is worth a visit.

Very busy but good

This restaurant is one of the 'piers' that jut out into the sea and a good location for dinner on warm evenings as you get the sea breezes. The organisation in getting you seated here is impressive as you get passed through a series of staff until you get to your table. The service speed and... read more

Virket bra når vi kom men ble en stor skuffelse da maten som ble bestilt ikke kom samtidig. Sistemann av 3 fikk maten da vi andre var ferdig og spise.. Tommel NED! Seemed good time we arrived but was a disappointment when the food was ordered not got the same time. Last Man Standing of 3 got food when we... More

We have been here many times over the years and our visit on sat 23/1/16 did not disappoint. The shrimp cakes were delicious as were the scallops. The sweet and sour garupa was expensive but tasty. The service was excellent as the restaurant was very busy.

We ate here about 5 nights during our stay in Hua Hin. The food was faultless every time. Quick service. Excellent food. Good price. I don't understand why this place isn't at the top of the list!!!

The place packs up quickly after 6pm and is packed by 7pm, obviously for a reason, the food is very tasty and well prepared, as expected from a good Restaurant. Prices are for the quality very reasonable.

My husband and I revisited this restaurant after 3 years. No big change and still with a good view as mostly the tables are outdoor on the extended deck of the restaurant.Staff there were still very nice. Food were still yummy, especially the Curry Crab which you will eat a lot of rice with the curry crab sauce. A lot... More

There are many similar restaurants in this area. But there must be a reason why Chao Lay is consistently better frequented than it's neighboring venues. Today we arrived just in time to get a front row table - without a reservation. After 1800 the place was packed. We had fish, prawns, scallops and some beef. All was very well with... More

We visited Chaolay for dinner. One cannot book so we just turned up. The setting is basic but the food was really delicious. The menu was so extensive that we ended up over ordering but managed to finish everything as it was so tasty. Great ambience. Peter H.

This place has an extensive menu - which makes it hard to choose what you want. and if you have kids with you who don't like seafood, they also have a variety of pizza's or plain old fish & chips available. it's located on the pier overlooking the ocean so has great views (it's a bit exposed to the wind... The place is on a pier that holds dozens of people. The service is fast and friendly. The seafood was fresh and tasty. The pricing is very reasonable. This is where you want to go to eat in this town. Parking and getting there was really hard. Be warned. Walk in. But do go there. They do have their own... More
