ChaoLay Seafood

Thanon Naretdamri, Hua Hin, Thailand
Improve this listing
Ranked #92 of 374 Restaurants in Hua Hin
Cuisines: Seafood
Dining options: Reservations, Late Night
Description: There are a number of good restaurants along the wharf area. Saeng Thai is a very good option. We tried Chaolay Seafood as it was recommended by one of the local residents of Hua Hin. It was an excellent recommendation. Before climbing the steps into the main restaurant you pass a large selection of fresh fish. Once on the pier, there is an army of staff to seat and serve you. My colleague and I ordered a scallop appetizer, a whole fish main course and a large fried rice side dish. The food was very good and the pricing reasonable, less than $30 for all of the food and 4 beers. Chaolay is worth a visit.

After wondering around trying to find somewhere different to eat we ended up here. Chaolay is a sea food shop with a restaurant upstairs. There were a lot of locals in here which is usually a good sign and of the four restaurants that are situated over the water this one was full. Service was prompt and our food when... More

Nice imposing building on the corner. You can't miss it and you can't but want to try it, especially when the hotel gives it as a recommendation. Really busy place so much so that they can't be bothered to find you a table. What service? Had to hijack a passing waiter to get his attention just to get the menu.... More

Service can indeed be a little chaotic here, but it certainly isn't bad. Shrimp spring rolls were probably the best I had in Hua Hin and the Hot Pot beef also was excellent. Only the Papaya Salad fell short of the mark as it curiously lacked papaya. The setting on the pier is great and has nice cooling sea breezes.

I've read many negative review on this restaurant regards its service but i would say their service is good during my experience. The environment is nice where you can have an out door seating or the indoor roof seat. Their food are cheap and delicious. First you must try their mango rice and desert located beside the cashier. I order... More

We ordered fish, crayfish, tom yam soup with prawns, vegetable and crab meat curry. It costs about THB 1500/USD 50. It was fresh, clean and nice.

My wife and I had just relocated from Koh Samui and was recommended by the staff at Star Property... What on earth is going on!! The service was shockingly slow! TWICE I had to walk to the bar to get the waitresses/waiters attention! The food was dirty and not prepped properly, crunchy muscles and excrement still in the sack on... More

Expansive menu. I had seafood with curry paste in coconut which was great. Friend had deep fried sea bass which was excellent. Dined in group of 5 and with a few drinks and tip it worked out to 500 baht pp. Had been recommended this restaurant by locals as being the bets in town it was a great recommendation.
