Good and fresh seafood

We went here after 6 p.m. and it was filled up fast after that. Vast amount of seafood to choose from. We had lobster, prawns and a whole fish to share and everything was good. It is worth trying various dishes in these fish restaurants.

Ate there following a local recommendation and this plus the atmospheric setting meant we thought we were in for a treat. We selected a number of "specials" and whilst one or two we're ok none came together and we waited an hour for the first dish and by the time the fish came it was cold, dry and "specially" bad.... Very good food and service. I recommand this restaurant if you are looking for a good Thai fish restaurant. We had a lovely meal ! I had a crab dish in served in a coconut (suggestion of the menu), it was really nice. The smoothies are also tasty. All in all good thai food !

We visit Hua Hin regularly and always go to Chao Lay at least once. It is slightly more expensive than others but worth it it for the food and ambience. The staff are excellent and well trained. There is usually a queue for a table but you never have to wait long. The menu is extensive and the food is... More

Eight family member with a small child. The seafood are fresh; steamed shrimp, roasted sea shell, fried sea fish with fried garlic on top, Gaeng Som Talay (sour soup), finished with crab fried rice (not too oily). On the whole, one of the better family seafood restaurant in Hua Hin.

Ate there twice when in Hua hin. First time was deacent (first dinner in Hua hin) but the second visit was a disaster both in terms of food quality and service, and most probably got bad sea food as well. Cannot recommend. Go to Chomkluen next door instead who serve better and more tasty food with good quality service and... More

We didn't plan to go for seafood but when we found this restaurant, its atmosphere and environment drew us in. The food is good in terms of quality and price. Well operated. Have had curry crab, clear soup of seafood fried noodles with brown gravy. Fried veggie is abit salty. An enjoyable dinning experience.

ChaoLay Seafood is an institution on the beach in Hua Hin. We've eaten there several times, and enjoy the open air atmosphere and extensive seafood menu. The place is usually crowded, but don't let other reviewers kid you; most of the customers are tourists (including many Thai tourists). Service is variable; often quite slow when crowded, but always friendly. Always... More
