We ate here 4 times in a week which shows how much we love this place. The seafood is to die for, try the buttered prawns, or the deep fried garoupa, Absolutely fabulous. It is very popular with the locals which says everything. We will return!

We were sent here by the hotel for seafood. It didn't disapoint. Great location on an old pier over the sea. Open air dining. There is a fish market underneath. The menu covers any kind of local seafood done however you want. We ordered shrimp and squid. Both very good, served by friendly and enthusiastic staff. If you want good... More

Although nothing more than a wide, wooden pier the atmosphere here is fantastic. It's frequented by lots of Thais - a very good indication as to the standard of food served. They also get the temperature of the bottled beer just right! Well worth a visit.

It was our first visit, recommended by a travel guide book. By looking around other seafood restaurants along the pier, it was the only one with full house. Food was great, big portion at reasonable prices. Staff can communicate in English. To ensure a good seating, need to prepare to go early. Our reservation was confirmed but we booked at... More

Having eaten at Somboon in Bangkok, I would rate Chao Lay as better in terms of taste and freshness. The service and ambience is better at Chao Lay too. Both are comparable in price though. Will recommend this restaurant to friends.

Chao Lay is by far one of the best seafood restaurants in the centre of Hua Hin, take your seat look left and right and see other restaurants empty when Chao Lay is full, you know then before you order you have made the right choice. Food delicious, service very fast no matter how busy and great value for money,

Loved the ambience, outdoor seating out on the pier and the seafood was excellent. It also gets very busy with locals and tourists alike.
